It's nice meeting you." he said while I smiled to accept his greetings. From the way he dressed and stood, I could tell that he is part of the soldiers keeping this pack safe. "It's nice meeting you too." "I am Jonathan. But you can call me Jon as my friends calls me." I nodded and smiled. "I am Riley."

Why did it have to be him? Dylan Ashbourne, The Alpha’s son. “I felt it.” I murmur. “You felt it too. I know you did” “I did.” “Then why are you looking at me like that?” Dylan turned his face away from me and towards the crowd we were slowly drawing in. When he looked back at me his expression had settled into something decided. “Don’t.” His jaw tightened. “Don’t make this harder than it has to be” “You’re going to reject me?” I could hear the pain I was feeling in my voice as the reality of my situation dawned on me.

He stepped forward, wrapped his arms around me, and hid his face in the crook of my neck. "I already know what you're going to say," he whispered, his warm breath fanning the skin of my shoulder. "So don't bother saying it out loud." I closed my eyes, letting my arms rise and return his hug just as tightly. "I'm sorry," I muttered softly, my voice cracking. "I'm sorry, Jo." Jonah snorted dryly, a strange vibration in his chest. "Damn. I told you not to say it, didn't I? You're so stubborn..."

He sighed, a long, weary sound that seemed to carry the weight of the world. He finally turned fully towards me, his expression a careful mixture of regret and resignation. “Elara, I know. And with that, he turned and stalked out of the cabin as fast as he had entered, shutting the door hard behind him. My mother collapsed into a chair, shaking. "Who was that, Annie?
