Novel & Cerita In The Heart Of The Beast

His body went slack as the spell dragged him inward, into the place where he and the wolf would finally meet. Into the heart of the beast. His own very beast.

My voice felt small, a fragile thing in a place of monsters. The black beast turned to me, there was a terrifying emptiness in his gaze, Ezekiel took advantage to the distraction and bit into the wolf's neck drawing out blood. But it didn't seem to faze the wolf as it fought back against Ezekiel digging it's claws into the white wolf chest and ripping out its heart.

I move through bodies, sniffing the air and huffing in frustration. Too many bodies between me and what is mine. I move through the battlefield on elongated limbs that bend and flex in ways nature never intended. My claws sink deep into churned earth, each step tearing trenches into soil and bone alike. Wolves scatter when they see me. Some try to stand their ground. “Find it,” the beast inside me croons, her voice layered beneath mine. “The Heart calls.” I lift my head and inhale. Copper. Ash. Fear. And beneath it—

Jaden looks at me; the beast looks at me. I have no idea what the plan is. My heart is beating too fast. I breathe out through my mouth. Go with the flow. I memorize the beast's pattern, knowing I have to do the opposite to win. The beast scrapes its feet against the ground, beats its hands on its chest, roars, and runs toward us at high speed. I don't know if it's the shock that keeps us both rooted in the spot watching this truck-sized killing machine head our way without moving or if it's the sheer confusion of the moment.

A big part of me feels like he doesn’t want to be here. “One time, he managed to crush the heads of 8 rogues while he was pushing through the crowd. I’ve seen it myself, and it was just pure rage,” Zeke excitedly explained with a large grin on his face as if he was talking about something entertaining. I blinked at him and looked at Amir, but he just shook his head at me. “They attack with fire, Brute hates fire.” Brute said, his voice was deep and monotone. I was surprised that he even spoke.

And although I couldn’t remember anything about her, I knew in my heart that I wanted her. [Flashback.] "But I’m on your team... Team Lucy, remember?" Team Lucy. Oh, Goddess. Please give me my memory back. 'I’m sorry.' Beast took back all the memories, and I just found myself sitting on the floor with my back against the cold walls, facing an empty gym. 'I did try my best while we were in the underworld, but the enchantment of that place was too much for me. I couldn’t even get a grip on reality from time to time. But I did try, buddy. I’m sorry.'

I would end up having flour all over me. Once I was done I took out the brownie and placed it at the middle of the heart in the bed. I quickly went to take a shower. I got Xavier's favourite colour black dress. It was backless and the straps went around my neck as the dress flowed to my mid thigh. I sat at the couch as I waited for him Xavier's POV I stared at the silver door in front of me where a rogue that was captured is tied up. I took a deep breath. It has been one week since I saw Bella.

No, this was about losing something that he thought he owned. Drake growled, and Samantha turned her head sharply in his direction. "All right, My Beast, don't start breathing fire. Cool heads need to prevail here." "Your Beast, huh?" Drake smirked. "Yeah. You're name is Drake. That's a dragon, you sounded like your were about to roar, you were definitely growling, I think if you get mad enough, you might just breathe fire. So, My Beast." Vulcan watched this by-play with a great deal of humor. The woman shouldn't know his friend that well. But, it seemed that she did, indeed know him, and know him well.

Kiema said, patting Kord's arm braced over her front. "The Beast. It comes," Alok said, his pale blue eyebrows dipped low over his tricolored eyes. "Right, yes. You've mentioned. What is the beast and why should I care?" Kiema asked. The group of Wardens jerked back as if Kiema had punched them in the bellies. "The Beast is the natural apex predator of all magical kind. It is the antithesis to any Prime or Prime descendant."

The beast charged at us with renewed fury, its monstrous form looming large against the shadows. "Sasha, remember, we are stronger together," Alec shouted, his voice ringing out above the beast's roars. I nodded, trying to steady my racing heart. "I know, Alec. We can do this." With a deep, echoing growl, the beast lunged at us, the air crackling with raw energy. I pushed back my fear, focusing on Alec's reassuring presence by my side. Together, we stood our ground, meeting the beast head-on. The clash was monumental, the shockwave rippling through the shadowy landscape of the Veiled Haven. Alec was a whirlwind of strength and determination, his every move resonating with our shared resolve.
