I feel like a lot of recommendations focus on newer books, which is great, but there's also 'The Salt Roads' by Nalo Hopkinson. It's a challenging, poetic historical fantasy that spans centuries, following the spirits of enslaved African women. It explores queer love and desire among women within the context of immense struggle and suffering. The power is spiritual, ancestral, and born of immense resilience. It's not an easy read, but it's a profound one.

I keep a list on my phone. Seriously, the TBR (to-be-read) list for sapphic fantasy romance is a living document. Every time someone mentions a title in a forum, or a newsletter highlights a new release, or I see a stunning cover on social media, it gets added. I categorize them by vibe: 'epic and angsty,' 'cozy and sweet,' 'monster romance,' 'audiobook likely good.' It's the only way to keep track.
