Her cathedral. She slouched into her best corner chair—stuffed, tufted velvet in tired blue—pullding out a book from her tote. A quiet night's reading before bed was now her ritual, and for tonight, she opened what was familiar and comforting: *The Light Between Oceans*. The book always bore its imprint on her. Loss. Forgiveness. Breaking and binding decisions. She opened to the top of it, and the world disintegrated. Somewhere in the city—several stories above, in a steel and glass building—Julian Blackwood lay in his dark, sleek bedroom, staring at the book she had given him.

Ace asked softly. "I... I-" Tai's eyes flicked from Ace's hand to his eyes. "Sparks. I feel sparks." "I think it's time you sat down and read the book Indianna gave you. In fact, I'd recommend a specific chapter... about a thing called mates." * Indianna was walking to class alone when she bumped into Stacy who was pinning up flyers about the Christmas Fayre. "Indie!" Stacy said brightly. "How are you? How's the baby?"

In that stillness, I could literally feel a strange, magnetic pull drawing me toward some other rows. Keeping my eyes firmly shut, I followed the sensation, putting one foot in front of the other. I just trusted that my instincts wouldn't fail me and cause me to bash my head against a solid oak shelf. I walked for about twenty paces, turning a corner blindly, until the pull in my chest suddenly stopped. I opened my eyes. The Book of Indina was sitting on the exact shelf right in front of me, looking completely innocent. "Got you," I whispered, grabbing the thick leather spine.

And I was not sure that it was over just yet. She had just learnt to subdue the whole thing. She dragged her chair closer to where I was, sitting down again with one of her books in hand this time. She opened it to the particular page where she wanted, and I noticed that the writing of that particular page was written in purple ink. I looked up at her, already knowing what it stood for. The two most important people in my life at this point. She nodded at me, answering the unsaid question. She took a deep breath. "So there is something about the little girl... Indigo."

It was the exact shade of peach as Nabanita's book cover had been, though a little worse for wear. Aspen pulled down a notebook and turned to face them. "I'll need those titles for my TBR, please?" What did he say? Had Lumen noticed? How were they proceeding? If Aspen had read her mother's book, if she still had it, that was good, right? He licked his lips. The sooner they figured all of this out, the quicker he could get Lumen out of here. "Hey, I recognize that one." He put his elbows on the desk and pointed at Nabanita's book. "Isn't that one about a woman who grew up a Creedite?"

Blushing she nodded to him. "Ren, I will speak with them for a bit." Melinda came out of her thoughts. She was mostly keeping the Nightmare Manual in check. it was way overstimulated the last few days. Ren warned her of the power involved but she didn't think it would be like this. She had no need for resources really as every fear and bad thought caused her to draw Ion energy faster.
