Novelas y relatos de Interesting Bedtime Stories For Adults

“Always am. Now, let's get you safely home.” ~~~~~ Ethan was cozily tucked into bed, eagerly awaiting his mother’s return to read his new favorite bedtime story, just as she had done the night before. Although he'd previously dismissed tales as juvenile and meant only for young children, not for "grown-ups" like him, he had recently found a genuine appreciation for them. He rationalized that some tales were, in fact, quite enlightening, a point he emphasized to his mother when she playfully teased him about his abrupt change of heart.

The boys were too tired to put up their usual bedtime resistance, allowing themselves to be tucked into their beds with minimal fuss. "Story?" Ethan requested, his eyes already half-closed. "Short one," I promised, settling into the chair between their beds while Thomas leaned against the doorframe. I chose a familiar story about brave little mice going on adventures, my voice soft and soothing in the dim light of their room. By the time I reached the end, both boys were fast asleep, their breathing deep and even. Thomas and I tiptoed out of their room, leaving the door slightly ajar as always.

I stepped back into the twins' room, feeling defeated, but I couldn't let them see the sadness on my face anymore. Their tears had stopped. I couldn't give them another reason to cry. "Who wants to hear a bedtime story?!" I clapped my hands, feigning the giddiness in my voice. They chorused, equally as loud. "Me!" They curled up in bed with me, and I began telling them a tale my mother always told me before bed when I was a child. It was about dragons, the magical creatures who could breathe fire.

"What story do you want to share?" Eden cleared his throat dramatically, and the hall fell silent, eager to hear his words. "Once upon a time, there was a brave wolf who fought against the darkness. He was small but fierce, and he had two powerful parents who taught him how to be strong!" Laughter erupted around the table as he spun his tale, embellishing it with wild gestures and exaggerated expressions. I couldn't help but smile, feeling the warmth of love and laughter envelop me.

"Mommy, can we read two stories tonight? Not just one?" I raised an eyebrow, fighting a smile. "Two stories? You're getting greedy, mister." "Please?" He deployed the full force of those brown eyes, the same ones I saw in the mirror every morning, now weaponized against me. "Okay, two stories," I conceded, already reaching for his current favorites. "But no more sneaky requests after that, deal?" "Deal!" He snuggled closer, small fingers tracing the illustrations as I read about dragons and knights, magical forests and brave adventurers. His commentary grew slower, sleepier, until finally, his breathing evened out against my shoulder.

Then, I lay beside him once he was fully settled and comfortable. “Mommy, tell me a bedtime story,” “Now?” “Yes. It will help me sleep faster. Also, nobody has told me bedtime stories since you left…” ‘since I left to prison…’ I wanted to say it out loud but I didn’t. The tears I’d been holding accidentally fell out of my eye, and I sniffed discreetly. “Of course.” I cleared my throat and began. “Story, story, story time. There was a far, far away land, and a King ruled a nation known as Anthill, filled with so many people who called themselves Anthillians.”

I said and went inside first. I missed another chance to tell him. Perhaps, tomorrow I’d be able to tell him. Lucas settled between us and again I saw how Logan’s face showed disappointment. Was he planning to sleep beside me? “Mommy, can you tell me a story? It helps me to sleep easily.” Lucas turned to cuddle with me. “I am not good with stories but I’ll tell you one tonight about a little girl who was the princess of her parents just like you but one day, she was left alone.” I said.

She said in suggestion. Herzl nods and gets up from the couch. Ciara follows him to his bedroom, where he gets to change into his pajamas. Then they sit down on his bed and Ciara begins to tuck him in. As she does, she asks. “Do you want me to tell you a bedtime story?” “Yes, please…" Herzl uttered, his eyes already beginning to droop as he lay comfortably on his bed. Ciara thinks for a moment before replying. “I'll tell you the story of the three little pigs.” She enounced. Herzl's eyes light up, and he gives a sleepy grin.

I picked him off the floor and walked us to the bedroom. "Can't I stay up for five more minutes?" Adrian asked, his beautiful jade eyes shimmering in the glow of his Power Ranger night light. "No, baby, you have school tomorrow," I told him, getting into the bed beside him. "How about a bedtime story?" "Yes!" he squealed excitedly. I chuckled and brought out my phone. After a few pages of the children's book I'd saved on my Kindle, Adrian was fast asleep. Plugging my phone in, I settled beside him, stroking his dark hair away from his chubby face.

"I want to stay with you now. I miss you so much." "I know, sweetheart. How about Mommy tells you a really fun story? You get some sleep, and when you wake up, I promise I'll stay a few extra hours with you. How does that sound?" "You promise?" "Pinky swear!" I cross my fingers and kiss them. "Okay." I help him get comfortable in bed and sit in a chair to start telling him the story. "I want the story of The Girl with the Red Hood." "Oh wow, that's not exactly a bedtime story, Alex!" I grumble. "How about something more…"
