The hand print was already darkening, skin tender and swelling. Five fingers, a thumb imprint just below her eye. Someone of them had struck her. Hard. Something hot and unfamiliar coiled in his chest. Not anger. Not yet. Recognition. Aria lifted her head slightly then, yes darting across the dark room until they landed on him again.

He reeked of liquor and moonflower oil, a potent combination to which he had grown a tolerance. "Leave her alone." I snarled, shifting into my Lycan as he watched with rage that I had dared to challenge him. "You are as weak as she is, boy! Know your place!" He snapped, gripping me by the neck with his claw digging into my flesh as he shifted only his hand. He was right. I had minimum training and hadn't mastered control of my beast yet. He had decades of training and experience on the battlefield. I was just a teenager…a kid.

The giant beast, which was covered with black scale armor, with sharp spikes on its head, rolled in the air and fell heavily to the ground. A cloud of smoke rose, and the ancient battlefield shook again. To Jason's surprise, the giant beast on the ground rolled and stood up, looking at Jason and roaring. "What a fierce beast!" Seeing this scene, Jason exclaimed. Although he hadn't used all his strength, ordinary beasts couldn't withstand his casual attack. Even the Guardian beast of the Inuit wouldn't bear it like this bastard in front of him. What surprised Jason was that he had never seen this giant beast last time.

The sounds of gunshots can be heard throughout the whole area, alerting every living thing about the bloodbath taking place there. Beast tries to make her way to the boss, but he leaves the battlefield as soon as the fight starts, leaving his men to deal with the enemy. Soon the difference in numbers between the armies becomes too great and even the help of the Deads doesn’t do much as Beast's side is forced into defense. Beast is circled by a group of Undeads as they try to separate her from her mate and Andrew’s sons, getting her alone.

King Draxlar finished off. There was cheering all around before the emcee of the fight announced who Beast would be fighting. I watched on, shocked as the opponent stepped out. I don’t know much about dragons, but that dragon looked scary. It was bigger than Beast, and it had scars everywhere on its scaly body. It was clear that it had survived many, many fights. I wasn’t sure about how the fight would go down since the dragon breathed fire, and I know for a fact that my mate doesn’t breathe fire.

And then I realized she didn’t fully re-madk her scent when she went outside. You can protect her better if you accept it, the beast said more quietly now. If you stop fighting what we are. “And what if accepting it is what kills us?” I asked. The beast didn’t snarl. Didn’t push. Then we die knowing we chose her. The door creaked as she started to step back into the cabin. I straightened instantly, forcing my expression neutral, my thoughts locked back behind discipline and control. I would not let her see this war.

Adrian's expression was as hard as stone, filled with murderous intent as he clashed wildly with the beast. Boom! A powerful punch sent the beast flying. Despite its immense size and strength, Adrian's physical power was superior. The beast was mighty, but its lack of intelligence made its attacks predictable. Adrian quickly realized the beast’s weakness was its head, and he focused all his strikes there. Under Adrian’s relentless barrage, the beast staggered back, struggling to maintain balance. As Adrian pressed the attack, his energy surged violently, and he stayed on high alert. He knew one wrong move could lead to injury, and the ominous void around him suggested more dangers could emer

That was when I realized those eyes weren’t Knight’s, so it was his beast all along. “I can accept anyone calling me that,” he continued. “But my mate… my future Luna… will call me by my name. Only my name.” He leaned toward my neck, lips brushing the skin lightly, making my breath shatter. “Or,” he whispered, “you can give me a daring name to claim me with.” “There is no difference between a beast and a monster,” I muttered. His grip tightened dangerously. “Do not provoke me.” Taking in a deep breath and at the same time desperate to break the moment, I blurted, “But a beast needs a real name. Like Knight has his. What’s yours?”
