Lia's POV Dante was standing in my hallway. Tall and solid and real and actually here, in New York, outside my apartment door. I couldn't believe it. Was I hallucinating? Was this some kind of hangover-induced vision? But no—he knocked again and I saw the movement through the peephole. He was real. Dante was here. I fumbled with the locks—my fingers suddenly clumsy and uncoordinated with shock and excitement—and yanked open the door.

“Don’t be so sure. I doubt you went to the mat for me on this.” “Oh, but I did.” He motioned toward Catalina. “She had to pull us apart. We were wrestling in the penthouse living room. It was awful.” Catalina’s smile and the slight shake of her head told me what I already knew—Dante was full of shit. I rarely thought about the fact that he was also a stone-cold killer like Dario. Their personalities couldn’t be further from one another. “I tell you what,” I said, looking at Dante. “If you unsheathe one of the knives you’re currently wearing and take Aléjandro out, I might decide not to hate you.”

Dante and Sabastain might have been brothers, but they had very little in common, least of all in their physical attributes. Although both men were impressively tall, Dante was obviously taller. While Dante was as dark haired and brown eyed as their father, Sabastain had taken after his impressive maternal genes with the sexy blue eyes and honey blonde hair that many found mesmerizing, Along with that cocky heart melting smile that was to die for and the confident swagger that reinforced his devil may care attitude. Madonna hasn't been in a crowd with Dante but she knew that he would be able to attract all attention

Avery stared at Damien; her breath completely hitched in her throat. Was that really an accident? He had aimed the cane with the precision of a sniper. There was no hesitation, no searching sweep of the cane. He had struck the exact millimetre of Elaine's heel needed to off-balance her, right at the exact second Elaine had pinched her. But as she looked at him, Damien simply turned his blind gaze back to her, holding out his arm. His expression was completely blank, the picture of innocent helplessness. No, Avery thought, trying to calm her frantic mind. He’s blind. It had to be a coincidence. He couldn't have seen what she did to me.

He adjusted his suit jacket, though his eyes were still burning with the fire of L'Oscuro. He looked down at Mateo, who was still on his knees. "You thought you were inviting a tech CEO to a birthday party." Dante whispered, his voice dangerously calm. "You forgot who I was before I built the company, Santiago." Mateo spat. “You son of…” "You invited the Devil into your house." Dante hissed. "And now you are upset that he brought hell with him." Then he casually shoved his hands into his pockets and looked around the room, his grey eyes sweeping over the terrified elite of New York.

Luckily, Michael reminded her, or else she might end up talking nonsense again. Although Edward James did not see Clara, the woman sitting with him saw her. The woman looked straight at Clara when she was still looking at him. It startled Clara.
