The walk is 30 minutes away usually but with me needing to stop and crouch somewhere every now and then it takes a little longer, and once I get in I'm seen quite quickly by nurses and wheeled in, stripped out of my many layers of trousers and that's when I hear the audible gasps and shocked expressions following suit. I look down and there is blood. So much blood but that's the last thing I remember before everything goes black.

With one last breath, the darkness swallowed me up. My eyes felt tight and swollen, I couldn’t move my hands and I could already feel myself bleeding out. Pain radiated from my leg. It had a sort of numbness to it, meaning I didn’t have much longer to live through this.
