Everly wasn’t ready to die, but she couldn’t even use her back legs to push him off. “Jack! Alyson! Slate!” she shouted with her mind, but she heard nothing in response, and those teeth were getting closer. She thought about Little Red Ridinghood. This was the Big Bad Wolf. And he was going to eat her up. A glob of spit slid off of his tongue and landed on her cheek as he lowered his head. Everly tried to guard her neck, but there was nowhere to go. The scent of rotting meat filled her lungs as his mouth got closer to her face, its warmth heating her neck as she felt her heart beating against her ribcage, her pulse throbbing in the vein near where his teeth hovered.

– I smiled inwardly as I tucked a loose strand of my coppery hair behind my ears, pride swelling in my chest – I could become more than just another wife, I could be a warrior, go with the soldiers into battle and stand proud beside my father. Surely while doing so I could still remain good, as pure hearted as I had began. After all, Mother Nature shunned the immortal creatures, removing them from the stars so that when they were destroyed their only place in the universe would be with the demonic beings of hell. Something black and dark with no soul, no place among the gods.

"I'm going to rip out your fangs, and then I'll enjoy putting you through what you inflicted on those little girls, you filthy leeches. I'll take my time with you and stop whenever you think it's time for you to die. I'll let you regenerate, and then I'll start again until the spell that keeps you here stops working. And, then, you'll understand why they call me the red wolf." _ Eh? Isn't it because you have red hair and my fur is red?" cut in Till, widening his eyes. "Yes... but that's a dramatic effect right there!" declared Harry in his mind. The wolf plastered his ears back before wagging his tail. _Ooooh, I see.

She told herself the faint tingle was her imagination, just as the hot dreams she’d been having the past few nights had been nothing more than memories of her girlish rescue fantasies with the temperature turned up by her adult experiences. She traced the raised lettering. A version of Red Riding Hood with the wolf as both sinner and seducer and the woodsman as the hero who saves the girl and takes her away from her old life to a new, better one. Seeing the book, touching it made her mother feel closer than she had in years. Even if it turned out to be just a copy, it was worth whatever she had paid.

I lowered the weapon and frowned when the wolf let out a soft chuckle. “I can see why the King is so enthralled by you,” he said in a friendly tone, and even cheerfully wagged his tail. “Yeah?” I asked--- realizing how crazy it was that I was standing in the middle of a forest – at night! – talking to an over-sized wolf! Several more followed, and I recognized it as Zane’s.

“I’m Daddy and the wolf!” Papa chuckled, shaking his head. “Mio Dio… he’s already one of them.” Wolf’s jaw tightened, but I saw the pride flicker in his eyes. Koda had captured him perfectly — fierce, loyal, a little wild. My heart swelled at the sight. I knelt down, adjusting Koda’s hood. “You’re the scariest wolf I’ve ever seen,” I whispered. “But also the cutest.” He grinned, tugging at my cape. “Then you better watch out, Red Riding Hood. I’m coming for you.”

I can't just guess I can imagine, I can relate to not knowing you have this power you never knew about and for it to one day just appear as if out of thin air. "This one family turned into a pack or more like a cult, hell bend on killing all red wolves off."
