On the screen was a news article with a headline that sent a chill down her spine. “Anonymous Sources Suggest Blackwell Had a Contingency Plan—What Happens Next?” Fiona’s grip on the phone tightened. “You think he planned for this?” Thalassa scoffed. “He was an arrogant bastard. He probably thought he was untouchable.”

Juliette stepped inside. The door creaked. Dust floated like ghosts in the beam of her flashlight. Then…….. a sound. Footsteps. She turned sharply, light catching a figure. He stepped into view. Older. Eyes sunken. But unmistakably Blackwell. “I knew you’d come,” he said. Juliette’s breath caught. “Who are you?” The man stepped forward, into the circle of light. “My name,” he said slowly, “is Gabriel Rowe Blackwell. And your father wasn’t the only one they tried to silence.” Juliette stared at him, the air gone from her lungs. The truth hadn’t ended with the letter.

I was a bit surprised at that but I knew he had friends left over from his own Sire days before giving it all up. “Have you ever heard of Ghost?” Milo leaned back in his seat and I wanted to hit that grin off his face. “Ghost is a myth because in reality nobody can be that good, move unseen, unheard and strike so silently that his victims are killed with guards just outside their doors.” Ryder’s tone was low but he clearly didn’t believe that Ghost existed. He had been a hunter too and he used to be one of the best. “There have been enquiries about Ghost. Whoever made them wants to know if Ghost worked for the Unit.” Milo sounded as relaxed as only Milo could.

Williamson had locked him in a cell while everyone waited for the ambulance to come for Matt. When Williamson had gone back to the station after leading the disaster efforts, Ghost was gone. Williamson had sworn up and down that he had frisked Ghost before he put him in the cell. He had taken Ghost's lock pick from him. An APB was put out on Ghost, but no one matching his description had turned up. The deputies felt that he was long gone.

It was like a dead human with the strangest appearance. Elongated nails that were as black as the dark night. A body that seems to be fading she could almost call it a ghost if not for the fact that she was really looking at it. No form of nose, eyes mouth or ears, just a black foggy head. What was it? Suddenly, bright reddish orbs blazed open from the formless head and looked straight at her, spellbinding her that she just couldn't look away. There was a flash of something in its eyes that if she had blinked, she would have missed it.

Then Jenny screamed too. Taking a glance at the cave, it was of no surprise as Malison had just felt a similar sensation. Swiftly, he tried to prevent them both from being run over, and walking to where the scream was coming from. The air became so thick as Malison saw a shadow coming towards his direction. The shadow looked at him in fury and turned around, but at the same time, his eyes almost turned pale as the same shadow appeared from the side. A warrior who looked at the other side was holding a sword in his hand. The smell of sulfur was hitting his nostrils. His familiar vampire slowly stood up in defense, holding his hat in his hands, with eyes wide open. The man wore a black vest a
