The memory of it—and the way we seemed completely infatuated with each other—flooded my thoughts as if it had just happened yesterday.
Shaking my head, I got up and walked to the kitchen. I needed a glass of water to clear my mind, but even as I drank, the images refused to fade.
“Well, Rachel,” I muttered to myself, “instead of overthinking all this, why don’t you just forfeit the contract and leave the show—or plan for the wedding?”
I poured myself a glass of water, trying to shake off the thoughts swirling in my head. But just as I was about to take a sip, the glass slipped from my hand, shattering on the floor.
