I asked and Jack laughed. “Do you need anything” “No. Have you found your leak yet?” I asked him. “Not yet,” Jack said, sounding despondent. “My Chicago address was leaked too,” I said. “Are you sure?” “I followed Huxman there,” I said. “He gave me a name.” “Who?” Jack asked me and I could hear him typing in the background. “Don’t worry about it, I’ll take care of it,” I said. “Jericho–”

Jake, you fucking degenerate! Jake was smiling as he approached the center where Tales was slumped on the floor. Jake crouched beside him, microphone in hand, his sharp suit and confident smirk making him look every bit the master of ceremonies. He scanned the crowd, his voice dripping with mockery as he began. “Ladies and gentlemen,” Jake drawled, “tonight, you’re in for a more delicious treat. Meet Tales.” He gestured grandly at Tales, his grin widening. “He’s not just strong and defiant—oh no, that’s only the surface. This one? He’s a masterpiece of pleasure and pain. A fighter by day, and...” Jake leaned slightly toward the microphone, his voice dropping suggestively, “a dream in bed at

Ella’s POV “Don’t stand there staring at me. Answer the damn question, Ella! Talk fast,” Jordan yelled at me. This was the first time since we met that he raised his voice like this. I didn’t know how to start explaining everything to him, but I had to. “Jordan, I promise you, it’s not what you think,” I tried to explain. But how did he even know about Jake? “Okay, since you want to know, I’m a criminal. Jake is the brother of the person I murdered,” I said, and I could see his body stiffen.

“Do not do this.” What is going on with him? “Do not do what?” he demanded. “Tell the truth? You have been playing games your whole life Arianna. Playing the victim and now you have convinced everyone that you are special. But I know what you really are. You are a manipulator and a liar and you do not deserve any of this.” Jax moved before I could stop him. He was off the platform and across the clearing in seconds. He grabbed Jack by the throat and lifted him off the ground.

“Baby, we're gonna see granny one of these days maybe in the years to come but definitely not now, let's heal and then we can face the world together.” LUCAS “The private investigator will be here shortly, I've made a few calls and everything is set.” Jack said, sipping his coffee as we sat in the mini cafe. “Alright I just want everything to be over, I want to make sure I don't have a serpent with me this time around.” Jack chuckled at my statement. “You're being skeptical and careful this time around and I love that.” “Good day Mr Jackson, Jack.” The private investigator said, walking towards us in the mini cafe as I shook his out stretched hand.

JAX: The despicable shit I killed didn't inform me that he had his filthy minions waiting outside. Workers and trainees at the pack house started to emerge, perhaps thinking the threat had passed. Among them were trainees and three seasoned fighters I recognized, who joined me in attacking the rogues outside the pack house.

Jack yelled at me. “I might not be able to do anything to you, but the police can. So can your creditors. I know exactly what you’ve been up to all these years. If you don’t take care of that killer, this is your last warning.” I heard a crash from the other end of the line, but I pretended not to notice. After a brief pause, Jack’s tone changed back to his usual sleazy drawl. “Baby, of course, I’m on your side. I’ll take care of everything for you. Just sit tight and wait for the good news. I won’t let anyone hurt you.”

Jake said. “Take care, Wrath. You know your place is always waiting for you whenever you want to patch in.” Jake left the clubhouse, and drove around the building back to the main gate. It had taken him six hours to trace Caroline to Adamstown to Mark Schafer in Cocalico. It had been a productive day and the fifty grand in his pocket was proof of that.

I stared blankly at the photo until Jake finally forced the words. “Ryan, was Jackla’s fiancé,” Jake said quietly, sealing the trap around us. “On the very day he was slaughtered, he was standing at the altar, about to marry her.” A dark, humorless laugh choked in my throat. I had slaughtered my own wife’s fiancé. The cruel irony of the universe was absolute poetry. “Which means only one thing,” I whispered, the crushing weight of the revelation settling heavily into the marrow of my bones. “Jackla could be a werewolf hunter too,” Jake chipped in, his words dropping like lead weights into the silence. “And she was probably directly involved in your father’s execution.”

I can blow candles w/out you if I have to 😏 He’d texted a cake emoji and a promise. A black thought pressed behind his ribs—too much of anything kills. He rolled his shoulders as if the pressure would slide off. “Control, this is Jack,” he said into the hands-free. “Sitrep, rolling.” “Will’s pulled six suspected Supernatural cases in the Valley,” Ty said. “Stacey and Luke are stepping out now. Don and Lisa are wheels up for the docks. Scott just asked for your odds on Barker.” “Tell him he’ll arrive breathing if no one tries to stop him,” Jack said.
