In less than five seconds, the misty wolf was replaced by another young man of Justin's age who stood with his hands on his hips. He grinned at Justin and me. I practically slapped Justin's arm muscles and made my palms heat on my own. “Who is he?” I whispered to Justin. “He's just juggling, isn’t he?” Justin looked at me in surprise. “Extremely not! He is a wolf-shifter! You still don't know?”

Lory’s POV It has been one week since the day I learned that Jackson and the others are werewolves. According to them, I, too, am a werewolf, but I think they’re mistaken. I don’t feel any different; I’m still me. Werewolves change shape for the first time when they turn 18, but I didn’t. Their wolves live alongside them and take over when their human side permits it. I don’t have a wolf inside me. I’m convinced that they’re wrong about that—or perhaps I’m just the unfortunate one who was born without a wolf in my pack and, as a result, was raised by humans. That all sounds logical, but Jackson and Dave refuse to believe it.

It was too fast that they didn’t even expect these bandits to be that fast. “Bandits!” Jackson’s loud voice echoed throughout the forest. Jackson summoned his wolf, and he shifted into his half-werewolf form. His shirt and jacket were stretched into damage as his bones cracked and gray fur appeared on his back. Fangs and claws extended, and he howled loud before he attacked the bandits. He clawed and smashed every bandit he encountered while never leaving Ember’s side. Arrows flew everywhere as werewolves in their half-human form emerged from the shadows of the trees and began to attack them.

Jackson growls, his voice already deepening as the change begins. "And find out who leaked information about my family to that rogue bastard." He doesn't wait for a response. The moment he reaches the cover of the trees, Jackson lets his wolf take over. Bones crack and reshape, muscles tear and reform, and where a man stood moments before, a massive silver wolf emerges. He's larger than any natural wolf, his fur as light as the moonlight, eyes glowing with power. Without hesitation, the wolf launches into a run, heading due east toward home.

Jackson huffed at the werewolf glaring at him, and slowly advanced, trying to find a weakness. The two giant werewolves circled each other, and as if by agreement charged one another, striking out with meaty claws. Howls filled the air as the two fought, blood flew and snarls rang out in the air. Jackson was bleeding badly, and his hind leg was seriously wounded. He was getting desperate, Ruben was stronger than he ever imagined. Slipping in the blood he was losing, Jackson avoided a swipe of Ruben's large clawed paw. Ruben knocked him into the wall. He manoeuvred himself closer to Jackson grabbing him by the neck, Ralph and held him up in front of himself.

I haven’t seen this side of him before and it scared me a bit, to be honest. “That’s is where you are wrong, dog. You see, about 20 years ago while my father was still the leader of the hunters, he came across a rather odd creature that no hunter has ever come across before.
