He slipped it into his pocket but the distraction was obvious. Jacob’s mother noticed. So did Jacob and everyone else. “So,” Jacob’s mom asked gently, “who exactly are you?” Jacob, proud and happy in the moment, opened his mouth with a bright smile. “He’s actually…” Atlas cut him off too fast. “Just a guy who moved here recently. My father trades horses.” Jacob stared at him, with surprise and hurt flashing across his face. A dish suddenly broke in the kitchen as one of the siblings went to fetch more water. The distraction gave Jacob the opening he needed. He grabbed Atlas’s arm and pulled him outside behind the house.

It circled me, its massive body blocking every exit. “Do you see it now?” Jacob’s voice hissed. “There’s no escape. No matter where you run, I’ll find you. I’ll break you. And when you’re gone, Jake will have nothing left.” I ignored him, focusing on the orb. The spider lunged again, its fangs snapping inches from my face. I dove to the side, the pain in my arm flaring as I hit the ground. Gritting my teeth, I pushed myself up and ran for the pedestal. The spider screeched, its legs slicing through the air as it chased me.

"Maybe your mother should have let you die. At least then, you wouldn’t embarrass the Alpha’s name." Jacob’s ocean blue eyes flickered with something aggressive and desperate before his body spasmed again. Muscles seized, his wolf squirming uselessly beneath his skin. It made me wonder if he even had a goddamn wolf. The tallest one grabbed him by the hair, yanking his head up. "Try. Just try." Jacob choked, veins standing out like cracks in porcelain. His teeth elongated, then snapped back. Blood flooded where his canines tore into his own lips. He gasped, struggling to get it together. "Stop—"

I thought of my head guard, Jakob, and had a feeling that he would have an idea what could have happened that night. Once I got home, I sent for Jakob. "Get Jakob for me," I ordered one of my guards who bowed slightly and at once went to bring me Jakob. Jakob is a wise werewolf who could slay and fight in wars and still return alive. Although he was in his early fifties but still strong and never ageing like he had a trait of a vampire in him. He knew far more than any guard I had ever known and made wise decisions and suggestions. He had valuable and costly information and was filled with wisdom.

Stefani found herself momentarily stunned as she locked eyes with Jacob, completely oblivious to the presence of others around them. Their intense gaze only broke when Harold returned, wearing a somber expression as he held a piece of food for the tiger. "I couldn't give this to the tiger..." Harold murmured, glancing back at the other children being carried by their fathers to reach the majestic creature. "I need to be taller..." Jacob, though visibly annoyed, looked down at Harold and without hesitation, lifted him onto his shoulders. "What about this height? Can you feed it now?"

Jacob then threw a punch at Socrates and made him see stars. Next, he mounted Socrates and reached out to pull Socrates’ hair by hand, cutting it with a scissors and scalpel. Socrates' blond hair had been completely uprooted. Socrates struggled as hard as he could against Jacob, but he was no match for him at all. “Young man, I’ve learned my lesson. Please spare me.” “I lost the match, I admitted defeat. Three more matches are not required. Okay, you've won, right? ”
