Marcus moved in front of me‚ his sword was drawn‚ as the chaos erupted around us. Jake tore right through the rogues with extremely brutal efficiency‚ but they just kept coming at them “Jake!” I called‚ trying to push myself up. “Stay down!” he barked‚ his voice was very sharp. Killian watched from the sidelines‚ his arms were crossed‚ with a twisted smile on his smug face.

He smiled softly, a welcome gesture, and he took a few steps towards me.

He kicked Jake hard in the chest, sending him flying back into the wall. “Jake!” I shouted, rushing to his side. Jake coughed, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth. “I’m fine,” he growled, pushing himself up. “Don’t let them get away.” But it was too late. The hooded figure and Andrew were already out the door, sprinting towards the forest.

Zelda’s POV The lights suddenly illuminated Alpha Jake, the center of attention at his welcome party. Dressed in a white suit with a golden symbol on the chest, he radiated authority. "Welcome, Alpha Jake," the usher began, trying to build up the atmosphere. "The alpha of the rogues, the one and only alpha who can have any woman he desires, the alpha who slayed a lion at the age of three, the alpha who—" Alpha Jake interrupted the usher, raising his hand to silence him.

Olivia asks and I shake my head. "I'm not doing that to him yet. She'll terrify him and I'd quite like him to stick around." I laugh. "I can't imagine him being scared of anyone." Susie reaches for another cookie, groaning in pleasure when she bites into it. "He's the one that does the scaring." "Do you think your mum won't like him or something?" Ellie frowns at me. "My mum loves everyone, you should know that already. But no, Jake's a lot more sensitive than he looks, like a great big tortoise or something, he looks all hard on the outside, but actually he's all squishy and soft inside." They burst out laughing around me.
