I tried to hold on to her body, but they had all dissolved, and turned into smoke. The smoke swirled, drifting toward the jar pendant. I held it up, and the mist dissipated into the jar, filling it with a soft, ethereal glow. I stared at the jar, my heart shattering into a million pieces as everything became all too real. “Mother!” I wailed, collapsing on the couch. The room spun around me, darkness closing in. I clutched the jar and the book, my lifelines to the mom I'd just found as tears poured down my face as I rocked back and forth, grief consuming me.

Knowing even though she is not awake, she is still using all her energy to try and save me, from this never-ending sorrow. Dark circles are all I see around me, looking into all these exhausted faces of the people I love and care most for in this hard world. Knowing I am the cause for all their suffering, makes my body feel over racked with pain and devastating sadness, making my stomach churn. Weeping inside everytime I look into their eyes, watching all the happiness slip away. I don't know how to help them or myself. Except to maybe leave my pack territory and go in search of the man my heart is longing for.
