Asher called but I can't find it in me to look away from Logan's nipple. "You know I was joking right?" Logan said but I just can't look at anything else. "Excuse me." "Jasper, confirm it." I jumped back as Jasper stepped forward and soon my back hit the wall. I slapped Jasper's hand away when he reached for me and he raised his eyebrows. "We've proven that I'm a lot stronger than you," he said lowly and I gritted my teeth when he lifted my top. He whistled and looked up at me. "That is a dirty scar," he commented and stared at it for a while longer. "And it's a scar from a stab wound." "When did it happen?" The man asked.

Jasmine’s lips part, and for a moment, I think she might retreat, but instead, she whispers, “I’m sorry.” Her apology surprises me. I shake my head, the corner of my mouth twitching in something that might almost be a smile. “Don’t be. The scars we carry...they remind us of what we’ve survived. And surviving… it’s a victory, even if it doesn’t feel like it.” She flinches, her body curling inward like she’s trying to make herself disappear. I see the way her nails dig into her palms, the trembling in her shoulders as her breath quickens.
