“Belle pulled more towards our mom… I think you two would get along pretty well.” I pull my face away from his chest, lifting my gaze to his face. Jasper slides his hands down my arms, not breaking our eye contact. “Do you miss it there?” “Yes.” He answers honestly. “It's one of the reasons I'm impatient to find it. But maybe…” He looks at my lips. “Maybe I've found something more special.” My confused look makes him let out a chuckle, “Well, I guess our little game will have to wait. It's getting late, and we both have things to do early in the morning. I have a workout, and you have smart asses to kick.”

Bella's POV The question "What is your name?" He queried. "Bella ." The question "Bella what?" I am Bella Jones. "Good." I'm going to reject you, he hummed. He murmured, and my chest began to hurt sharply. I wanted to beg him not to and promise him that I would stop at nothing to prevent him from rejecting me. "And you're going to accept my denial and stop thinking about me because we'll never get together!" I don't need a partner like you because I'm an Alpha King.

He is being bombarded with questions. “That was cold my precious jewel.” Dylan whispers. I shrug my shoulders as I sit back down on his lap. A shiver spreads down my body when he kisses my neck. I lean back and relax as I watch our family grill Riley about Janessya. He tells them she will be at the Barbie and they will meet her then.

~Bella's POV~ "How do I look?" I inquired of Sandra, who was engrossed in applying makeup on her face. Sandra paused her task, shifting her attention towards me. Her eyes carefully scrutinized my attire—a black knee-length gown adorned with shimmering diamond stones—before she offered a reassuring thumbs up. "You look absolutely stunning in that dress," she complimented. "Are you sure?" I questioned, a hint of uncertainty creeping into my voice. "Trust me, Bella. When you step into that party, Professor Blake won't be able to tear his eyes away from you," she affirmed, prompting a small smile to grace my lips as I envisioned the scenario.

Their tryst left the hollowness in my chest untouched. Dawn was a smudge on the horizon before the last drunken guests finally staggered home. I wanted only to collapse into bed as Jade chattered about the party's highlights. But she had other desires, tearing open my shirt and kissing aggressively. Even after spending her time with the bastard Alpha, she still come to me ? Like some whore. I gently pushed her away. "Not tonight, Jade. I'm too spent." Jade's pretty features contorted in annoyance. "You're always too spent lately," she hissed. "If I didn't know better, I'd think you no longer found me attractive!"

He slammed the camera down on the desk. The bang sent more students crowding the hallway windows. Twenty-eight-year-old Jace stood off to the side, sneering. "I knew it. You pretending not to care? Total fake. You just wanted to screw her over when no one was looking." I picked up the camera and opened the gallery. Photo after photo. Faye changing during swim class. Her pale shoulders. Her narrow waist. And then— A completely bare back. Jace let out a humorless laugh. He pulled up the school forum and shoved the phone toward my face.

"How are you?" "Terrible!" Jade exclaimed, holding her head in her hands and rolling on the bed. "I do not have a phone and it's so frustrating." "You haven't spoken to Bellamy, right?" Aunt Amber's attention was undivided and was given only to my baby sister. "Bellamy?" Jade sat up then laughed the kind that you'd know the person was probably hurting from inside. "We're no longer together. He used me as a bet and that's it. I'm with Tristan now."

He was not here to be confronted over anything, and that instantly caused his eyes to darken, all of them noticing the change in his features that happened within a split second. The one that had spoken was Jasper, and he stepped towards Kane, his droopy eyes eyeing him suspiciously. He was taller than Kane by a few inches, his shoulders much more broadened and he had much more weight on him as well. That was why he was not frightened by Kane's glare and tilted his head, "It's my house." Kane wanted to curse at him, flip him off and walk away, but he had to be nice in this new environment. He forced a smile, "My name's Kane, and I—"

My eyes locked onto Jemima's, and I plastered a fake smile filled with resentment onto my face. I said, "Jemima, it looks like we have the same ideal type. Fortunately, I've already found a boyfriend, and his name is Elijah Sanders." My voice grew colder as I continued, "Why don't I talk to Elijah about this later? If any of us happens to meet someone who fits your criteria, we can introduce him to you." This provocation successfully angered someone, but it wasn't Jemima. Like a protective mother hen, Hannah grabbed a box of chalk and hurled it at me.

“Protect her from harm? Especially from other werewolves?” Envy bubbled within me. Paisley was so lucky to have a father like Phil Gable. I could only dream of having someone in my life who loved me so much they teasingly embarrassed me on purpose, or asked a man his intent with me. “With my life, sir.” Beta Carter’s eyes met mine and for a brief moment it seemed like he was staring straight into my soul. “She is my equal in every way.” No one spoke for a moment. It seemed I wasn’t the only one who was shocked by the intensity of his response. The silence was only broken by the soft thoughtful chuckle of my father.
