Lyralei glanced down the slope looking for any path that didn't have shadow wolves blocking it. Nothing. Every route down was packed with the bastards circling and waiting. No backup was coming. No clean strategy existed. No way to get the boy out of here while they were pinned.

I completed my statement. "Oh my God!!! A bug???" Mr Agent exclaimed. "You're so unpredictable and amazingly smart." Mrs Johnson said unbelievably. I laughed. Yeah right, I'm unpredictable, I'm an Alpha wolf and not any Alpha wolf but the best in my generation. I had a feeling that the wolf will misbehave and want to make a fool of us all so I commanded a bug to disappear to me and it was so, so I placed it on the fool's neck and he disappeared immediately.

Jeff hoped Cole was in control enough to think things through, otherwise he might have a wolf at his throat any minute. Cole stared at the doctor, the color in his eyes swirling faster. His wolf was going to act soon. Jeff was glad he had sent most of his staff out of the room. If anyone was going to get hurt, he wanted it to be as few as possible. If it was going to be him, so be it. He could see every muscle in Cole's body was tense, ready to fight, ready to protect his mate.

I'm in my senior year at North Point High, I'm just seventeen but I experienced all the bad things someone could ever think of as a student, bad grades, mean students and teachers, getting tripped, blamed, and all those crazy kinds of stuff, but above all that; Not a single day would pass that the story of the legendary wolf would be told in my school. There’s something that was tangling people from that story, it was older than the students in my high school but it was so alive in them. That story's quite famous, but no one ever has concrete proof that the legendary wolf existed. I also don't believe that he ate human flesh, he can howl at the moon, perhaps, and harm anybody now and then.

“And don’t try to lie to me, I’ll confirm whatever you say from Chloe. And if you still choose not to tell me, I’m sure Chloe would be ready to spill everything.” I let out a frustrated sigh. Lying to him would make things only worse. Maybe I just needed to come clean. “Okay, but promise me you won’t get mad.” “I won’t get mad.” I didn’t trust that he wouldn’t get mad. I just knew that he only said it because he wanted me to open up to him. “Okay.” A defeated sigh escaped my lips. “I’m listening.” He stared at me intensely. I closed my eyes and blurted out the words. “I don’t have a wolf. I still haven’t discovered my wolf yet.”

I said when I looked back up. “So, that means the Witch's new High Priestess was right. Seems we will lose three of our kind to the others.” Luna Morgan said to the Alpha and Beta pair. “Luna?” “Dravo was just the first. The Witch’s Seer had a vision that three wolves from the highest pack, ours, would be mated to the leaders of the world. We know that you are uncomfortable with a lot of things regarding mates and that’s why we wanted to speak to you both together, but we will have to just talk with you alone,” Luna Morgan said.

Therin takes a step forward. “What does that mean?” Elyra doesn’t answer him, and neither do I. She is staring at me with a strange mixture of horror and awe.
