Jennifer Harman Book By Jackie Novels & Stories

I asked and Jack laughed. “Do you need anything” “No. Have you found your leak yet?” I asked him. “Not yet,” Jack said, sounding despondent. “My Chicago address was leaked too,” I said. “Are you sure?” “I followed Huxman there,” I said. “He gave me a name.” “Who?” Jack asked me and I could hear him typing in the background. “Don’t worry about it, I’ll take care of it,” I said. “Jericho–”

He asked. Lexi worked at swallowing her potatoes first. She tapped the blue book on the table. "I was reading this book today. It's about a man named Martin that gets reanimated and he can hear a voice named Angel. Then he meets up with a girl named Carmen and they search for a dead body." "Dead bodies? What kind of books are you reading? Maybe you should stick to something with bunnies in it or something." Jack went to take the book from her. Lexi slapped her hand on the book. "No please, don't take it. I'm not finished yet." Her pleading eyes looked up at him.

The woman was a pro at defying me and I was fucking steaming. My father called, asking why all of a sudden a mass of reporters were camping outside of Harriet's condo. So I had Jack bring her in my penthouse with me in case another one tried to ambush her. "Calm the hell down, Lucas," she said for the tenth time, playing with her bowl of mixed fruits as she sat crossed legs in her pajamas on my couch. "They're reporters, they're just doing what they’re paid to do, and I'm fine."

"Thank you. So… about the book?" Jack handed me the smaller version. I flipped through its pages, and what I saw made my breath catch. This is my story. This is me. The book… it was my diary. Rewritten. But how? Everything that happened here was exactly what had happened back then. "Who wrote this book?" I asked, my voice low. "Some say she wrote it herself," Jack said. "Some say a human named Elias did. Others believe… it wrote itself." "Wow… so why did it stop? Why isn’t it finished?"

Jack said slowly. “Yeah, well, I’m feeling rather jaded when it comes to the falling in love thing. Twice now that sucker has burned me. Fool me once and all that. I’m going to become the crazy hermit lady from now on. I’m going to become like Sandra Bullock’s character in The “You know people were trying to kill her, right?” “Only because she got involved with ‘people.’” Jack laughed. “So that’s it? One bad ending to a romance and you’re out?”
