After One Night
I asked Maya, taking away her attention from her phone as I twirled around, my Louis Vuitton heels clicking against the marble.
“You look absolutely stunning, Jess,” she gasped and cheered. “Everyone, that’s my beautiful best friend right there.” She pretended to present me to a fake crowd, and I joined her in her charade as I twirled and curtseyed.
“Maya, has John said anything about Jordan’s health yet?” I asked as I picked up my phone to check. I had left him some messages in the morning asking if everything was okay, but all he had told me was, “Jordan is stable now, Miss Jessica. I’ll give you more details later.”
