I actually wouldn't prioritize 'top-rated' as a filter for that pairing. Sorting by kudos on AO3 can be a decent start, but you end up with the same handful of super-long fics on page one every time. The real good stuff is often mid-tier in stats but perfectly nails their dynamic—the competitive tension, the history, the weirdly domestic moments post-battle.
I'd search the 'Jing Yuan/Blade' tag on AO3 and sort by date updated, then just dig. Sometimes a new writer drops an absolute banger with only a few hundred hits. Also, check out the 'Jing Yuan & Blade' tag for gen fics with heavy subtext; some of those have the best character study. Don't sleep on Chinese platforms like Lofter either, even if you need a browser translate extension. The vibe is different there, more poetic sometimes.
My personal favorite right now is a WIP called 'Guili's Ghosts' that hasn't broken 500 kudos yet, but it's so sharp.
