She was looking directly at me. And I understood immediately. The same way I had understood the drive, the ring, the staged moments that always seemed to arrive with perfect timing. Joan operated with intention. Always. She created situations, waited for reactions, and then built her next move from whatever she got. This was one of those situations. She had dressed for a reaction. Definitely giving her none. I had plan to give her a constructive criticism because this wasn't her house and she has no right to display such a thing but seeing that she wanted a reaction, I wasn't going to give her face.

"But that all has become an option. I'm sure Violen will find something better. Does Noah like Violen" "I don't know, he's a mysterious man. I don't want to guess anymore." "Ohh, honey? Joan leaned against a shelf in a model pose. I closed my mouth, holding back laughter. Looking here and there, there might be someone watching us right now. I can be embarrassed.

She wore strappy stilettos and had her manicure done. Every part of her body screamed seduction and her presence pulled the men’s attention. Joan ignored the other men, wearing a frosty look on her face. Only when she looked at Aiden, her eyes would show a sense of coquettishness. Aiden was probably the only one in the hall who she deemed worthy of her attention. Other than Joan, there were a few more people behind Aiden in the same uniform. The men looked strong and proud and the women looked beautiful and stunning.

Some might say that her creativity verges on sadism, but I say all the better. “Remember that little incident the other night?” Joan asked with a smile. That smile, let me tell you, can take your breath away. But my girl is breathtaking in general. I’m a sucker for dark hair, and Joan’s is long, straight and midnight black. She’s been told multiple times that she could easily be a model, what with her high cheekbones and tall, leggy build. No woman turns me on more. At the moment, though, I was nervously thinking about the “little incident” she’d brought up.

Because I didn’t trust anything that came easy anymore. Not after her. Not after what she’d already done. Positive. A quiet exhale left me. Not relief. Not satisfaction. Something colder. Something sharper. Confirmation. I leaned back slightly, my gaze still fixed on the screen as the corners of my lips lifted into something that barely qualified as a smile. “She really did it,” I murmured. Of course she did. Joan didn’t lose. She manipulated. She calculated. She planned ahead. And I had underestimated just how far she was willing to go to stay ahead of me.

That was the effect he had on her, and that was why she was scared of him being in her house. "I Don't Know Joan" He breathed out, his breath catching her skin as he took another step closer. this time, he was only a breath away from her lips, and their nose almost touched. Joan could feel tingles travel through her entire body as she felt his hands slowly snake around her waist. She could feel his hot breath on her skin, which made a shiver run down her spine and left desire running through her being. She didn't mind that he didn't know what he was doing... she didn't mind...

I turned to see Joan—hair tied in a bun, eyes glinting, and a wide smile on her red lips. “Joan,” I said, pulling her into a hug. “Thanks for coming,” she said as we pulled apart. I shrugged. “I wouldn’t miss it.” Her brows furrowed. “Yeah, that… Adrian told us you were in an accident. How are you?” I gave a tight smile. Of course, Adrian had gone telling people without warning me. “I’m good, really,” I muttered, then glanced at her dress. It was floor-length pink, the neckline dotted with what looked like real diamonds. The hem was touched with soft blue. Clever way to keep everyone guessing.

“It is mostly genetics. You can ask your father. He knew my mother when we were young. I took after her.” Joan walked over and sat on Egan’s lap. She put her hand around his neck and grinned at him, then she turned back to Don Julio. “You just don’t want to tell me.” She teased. The man laughed, and continued eating. “I missed you.” Joan said loudly, turning to Egan. He smiled at her. She leaned close and grazed her bottom teeth against his earlobe. “Your men have been poisoned. Just follow my lead,” her voice, a very faint whisper.

Joan POV "Are you new here?" My heart skipped a beat, racing wildly in my chest as I turned slowly to look at him. He's about my height, golden brown hair and brown eyes that sparkle with delight. The awkwardness of our meeting… I am in the stream,without clothes! I was back from the morning sales and I craved some peace and quiet. Ms Anna seems to be out more often and I couldn't stay in the h0use all alone. It was hard getting used to a place where I wasn't abused everyday….

Joanna had just returned from her trip abroad, and it had been some time since she met Adrian. He smiled and said, “It’s been a long time, Jojo.
