One evening, while organizing books in the library, Arthur found an old copy of Augustine’s Confessions. The book was worn and dusty, but as he flipped through it, a torn paper slipped out. It was a prayer scribbled in delicate handwriting:
“Lord, if ever I am found worthy of joy again, let it be a joy I can share, not hoard. Let my love be pure, not penance.”
