If there’s something dark lurking out there, then we should shut it down, can you handle that?” She scoffed, but didn't reply. I swallowed hard, noticing her expressions changing. I forced a smirk. "If it comes for me, I’ll fight it." Seraphina looked at me for a long moment, her gray eyes unreadable. She inhaled deeply. "I like the confidence, but I don't think that would get you far,” she smiled and turned to go but stopped mid way. “I worked for Jennifer for almost ten years before I met Dorian,” she revealed.

Then she turned and walked out of the hall. Her steps were steady. I watched until she disappeared through the doors. Finally, I looked at Rowan.
