‘Let them know we’re not to be trifled with.
Jonas glances at me, a flicker of apprehension crossing his face. “Let’s not go overboard,” he whispers, just loud enough for me to hear.
“Fine, fine,” I reply, rolling my eyes. “But they need to know we mean business.”
“Anyone who was involved with Connor, step forward!” Jonas calls out again, his voice echoing through the trees.
There’s a long, agonizing pause before a few pack members take hesitant steps forward, their faces pale. I can’t help but feel a sense of amusement at their cowardice.
