He lifted his body with his elbows and rolled over, using his hands to push himself up. He got up on his feet and, as instructed, ran away. Sophia exhaled a heavy sign and slummed down on the couch. She tiredly looked up at her big brother who had still not stopped glaring from the exit from where Joshua had left.

CHAPTER 39: JOSHUA POV The war was intense but I gave it my all. The wolves were strong and put up a good fight but I defeated them. At a point in the fight, I was surrounded by wolves and one dug into my back with his claws and I groaned from the pain but kept it in and continued fighting. My back hurt so much and I was overwhelmed with rage, I turned to the wolf that hurt me and swung my claws at it's face. I bruised it badly but that wasn't enough for the pain I felt. I went closer to him and bit his neck. I tugged in deep and he struggled for dear life but I showed no mercy.

His wolf, J, said in his head. Joshua turned back on his back and spread his arms flat in bilateral straight lines at his side. While looking at the ceiling, Joshua replied out loud, "Yeah, I know." Joshua stood up with sagging shoulders and dragged his feet towards his bathroom. Wasting no time, he turned the knob for his shower, and stripping to nothing but his birthday suit and obvious excitement, Joshua stepped under the cold cascading liquid. #

Shawn answered. Joshua got up and climbed onto Shawn surprising him, “Wh, what are you doing?” Joshua looked down into his eyes and said, “Outside I saw the sunshine in your eyes and it looked gold.” “And your point?” Shawn asked as Joshua’s arms wrapped around his neck. “I want to see it up close,” Joshua answered. Looking into Joshua’s eyes Shawn felt his soul shake, a feeling that he had never felt with Aldridge. His heart accelerated and he felt himself draw into Joshua’s capturing gaze.

Despite the numbing pain that showered his whole body, his determination to fight only grew exponentially. So what if there were too many of them to handle? Joshua would not back down from the fight. Joshua’s persistence was honestly pretty astounding. “Joshua, be careful!” Dora exclaimed. She thought that Joshua wouldn’t be able to withstand the man’s flying kick. As such, Dora immediately ran over to him, worried for his safety.
