Dark Deception

Dark Deception

Her actions damaged the reputation I worked so hard to build so I could never forgive her for it. In order to hide my immense hatred in front of Olivia, I pulled myself together and put on a fake smile like I always do in front of her. I needed to be in her good books as you know what they say....keep your friends close but your enemies closer! "Good morning! I hope you are doing better today after what happened to you yesterday! It was so heartbreaking to hear what you had to go through" I faked my concern for her. I, in fact was happy and a little giggly to hear that all those things happened to her. I guess karma really is a b*tch. Olivia really deserved every bit of what happened to her.

Deceitful Relations

Deceitful Relations

“Right, but how am I supposed to make myself look 20 years older? There’s only so much I can do, and even then, I doubt it’ll do much.” “I’ve already thought about that. You can just say you have a rare genetic disorder that makes you look younger than you already are.” “This all seems more complicated than simply telling your parents the truth.” “I know, but I enjoy keeping this part of my life a secret. There’s just something thrilling about living a double life. I’ll tell them when I get bored or tired of it.” The next night… He came back at the arranged time and got ready. “Look at you,” Myrine complimented. “I’d be shooting my shot if I was straight and you were a bit older. Deceiving the Mafia Lord

Deceiving the Mafia Lord

I figured he is not that stiff and stoic like he's boss. "I'm fine. No need to get me anything," I said as feminine and elegant as I could. Peter told me it is how Analiese talks like. Though, he didn't say that I should try so hard to copy it since the people haven't here met her anyway. Still, I want to do my job right and avoid making mistakes as much as possible. If Mr. Beaumont would know that I'm deceiving him this whole time, then I will be good as dead meat.

A love forged in deception.

A love forged in deception.

I had to let on nothing about the robbery, the new car, or the cheating. "Yes. My friends," I said, offering a tight, weak smile that felt like a lie. He returned the gaze, his expression unchanging, then finally took his hand away from my elbow. "And how are they?." He asked, burying his hands on his pocket. “They're okay, thanks”. I smiled. Out of nervousness and exhaustion, I turned to walk away with an apologetic look. “Wait, Kylie! Your keys!”. He yelled.

Love in Deceit

Love in Deceit

“No. You made choices because you don’t trust me. Because somewhere, deep down, you still think I’m fragile enough to break if you told me the truth.” He ran a hand through his wet hair. “That’s not fair.” “No, what’s not fair is me having to find out about the deals you’re making in my name from Alexei.” His jaw tightened. “ I screwed up, but I had my reasons. Alexie, he's just trying to manipulate you” “Don’t dare change the topic,” I said, voice shaking. “Do you think I’m dumb? That I can’t see what’s happening? Irina and Alexei are playing some twisted game, and you’re fighting back like I’m a prize to be won.”

Ex-Husband, You Don't Own me

Ex-Husband, You Don't Own me

He sighed and said helplessly, “I didn’t admit it. It was your misunderstanding. Initially, I thought my dad had told you something, but now I realize... it was entirely your own misunderstanding. You are so gullible.” Dexie stopped crying for a moment. She raised her head and looked at Luke in disbelief. Then she swallowed and asked, puzzled, “What do you mean by that?” Luke shook his head and, with a forced smile, said helplessly, “I mean you were deceived.” “Luke, you’re the one deceiving me.” Dexie pulled away the hand that was wiping her tears. Her voice choked up and tears welled up in her eyes. She didn’t seem intimidated at all as she looked at him.

Too bad the translation of this asian novel is messed up and the pronouns are mixed up constantly. The story is difficult to follow because of these faults. Too bad, it was interesting at first but I'm quitting. This app should really do something about the quality of some of these stories.

this novel caught my interest, and now I'm enjoying this read. just hesitant on how much filler will be encountered during this trading journey, or will it be a continuous eventful ride until the end. hoping for an eventful ride... ...🫣...

Deception In Silk

" Amelia's eyes widened, and she immediately clicked on the article, her mind racing to process the sudden turn of events. The article revealed that Alexander was not just the successful businessman he claimed to be— he was an undercover agent working for a top-secret government agency. He was standing in front of a crowded auditorium, delivering a passionate speech about his mission to eliminate corruption and protect innocent lives. The Golden Dragon's Princess

The Golden Dragon's Princess

“Is it?” “Yes, there are words within Fae that when combined with a certain inflexion can imply deceit,” he had set the book to the side and leaned forward on his chair, his golden hair sweeping forward over his shoulder. “For example…” he spoke a phrase and then repeated it with a very subtle difference in the pronunciation. “The first is straight Fae, but the second implies there is a hidden deceit.” “Why would they have a language that is designed to tell you that they’re being deceitful?” I wondered.

I loved this story that I did not want it to end. I would love to see Liera and Aurien's story continue from here although we do see snippets in your other books. I read this book often to remind myself that we all can fight through life's challenges with strength and determination. Thank you
Sarah.
I really loved the book, I wish there were more like it on this app. The characters are charming and the story is beautifully written, the premise makes me want to continue reading the other books. I hope there will be lots more like this one and maybe even longer

DECEPTION

DECEPTION

Pete asks me and my cheeks heated I guess I am blushing. "N-n-no" I stuttered and hit his arm, and he laugh softly. "Are you sure?" he asks me "Yeah... maybe you just usually use sweet words when you flirt with others" I said to him. "Seriously?! First you think I am not romantic, now you accuse me that I am flirting with others with my sweet words" Pete said to me in amusement and I was taken a back. "Hey, I'm sorry... I am not that fond of sweet words that comes from outside of my family" I grab his arm and said it to him with pleading eyes.

The Billionaire I came To Kill

The Billionaire I came To Kill

He asked after an intense silence between them. "No...yeah, I'm...me..meeting a friend," she lied. She wouldn't want him to know about her stepdad, nor even her stepbrothers that torment her. This was where their meeting would end, cause he didn't look like anything like her, she thought. "Oh, okay. Could we possibly meet some other time?" He pressed further. "Em...maybe," she shrugged. Was she trying to play hard to get. He dipped a hand into his pocket, brought out his complementary card and gave it to her.

Frequently Asked Questions

You know what makes language fun? The way one English word like 'deceit' can split into several Tagalog colors depending on tone, place, and who’s talking. For me, the most straightforward translation is 'panlilinlang' — a slightly formal, broad term used in news, school essays, or when someone wants to sound precise. I’ll say 'panlilinlang' if I’m describing a scam, political trickery, or a calculated lie: 'May panlilinlang sa transaksiyon' (There is deceit in the transaction).

But everyday speech almost never stays that neat. In casual conversations people reach for words like 'lokohan', 'panloloko', or the verb 'manloko' — these feel lighter, sometimes playful (teasing a friend) and sometimes sharp (calling out someone who cheated). If a buddy teases me and I call them out, I might laugh and say, 'Tigilan mo na yang panloloko mo,' which is softer than accusing them of 'panlilinlang.' Then there’s 'kasinungalingan' which focuses on the lie itself — the content — while 'panlilinlang' highlights the act of deceiving.

Context shifts things: in relationships 'naglilihim' or 'nagsisinungaling' gets used a lot; for cheating on tests people say 'dayaan' or 'nandaraya'; for petty tricks 'niloko' or 'binibiro' works. I find the richness fun because Tagalog offers both blunt and nuanced options depending on whether you want to scold, explain, or joke about deceit — and that’s a small window into how Filipinos handle truth and trust in daily life.
