They completed it in two.” She stared at him. Then at the letter. At the specific, formal language of acceptance. “Read it,” she said softly. He picked it up. Read. The formal acceptance. The specific language of a journal that didn’t use words like extraordinary unless they meant them.

"You've been staring at that wall for almost five minutes." Cold spread through my body. "No." "I found..." I looked down. The journal was still in my hands. It was real. I wasn't imagining that. Slowly, I opened it. The first page contained only three words. If you're reading... The next line was written in hurried handwriting. You remembered. I swallowed. Page after page filled with my own notes. The writing changed. Sometimes neat. Sometimes frantic. Sometimes barely readable. One passage had been underlined dozens of times.

I had just finished journal 3 when I stopped. “What am I doing?” I whispered and dropped the journal, “No, no, no. Please no. Stop.” I dropped to my knees and started to collect all the pages. In a frantic hurry, I picked up each page as if they were about to fade away. Pages had landed everywhere. On the bed, behind the cupboard, under the tables, even in the bathroom. I picked up 575 pages. Each journal was a book of 192 pages… which meant one page was missing.

Something that my mother have left for me. My hands crumpled the side of the paper that I am holding. It’s been three days since I have read the content of this journal but the memories and impact of the words still brings me too much emotion.
