Judy Blume Fudge Novels & Stories

"This fruity one's too sweet, and the chocolate's too heavy. Maybe we should skip the candy for the favors?" Jade scrunched her brow. "We have to include candy. It's a Greenville thing." Helma gave a nonchalant shrug. "Your turn to taste-test then. I've tried like a dozen already." Jade's smile was soft. "I'm scared I'll pack on pounds if I overdo the sugar." At that, Helma, who was just licking some sticky sugar off her finger, shot her a mock-angry look. "And I won't?"

I was beginning to see light in Judi's idea, it would definitely have been just watching movies without the decorations. Judi stood in the middle of the chaos, hands on her hips, grinning. “See? Told you this would work. Best idea I’ve had all week.” Justina rolled her eyes. “You mean your loudest idea.” I laughed, dropping onto the growing pile of pillows. “Either way, it’s happening. Let’s get ready.” The food came not long after. The maids set down trays—fried chicken, meat pies, bowls of popcorn, chips, soda bottles sweating with ice, and even a small tub of ice cream. Judi squealed like she’d won the lottery.

Fred was right, my match wasn't until the next couple of weeks, and it still wouldn't generate the amount of money that we needed. That asshole! He gets me into this mess! I pressed start and watch as the spinach and strawberry mixed together, then added a banana and the last cup of yogurt that I got from the fridge. I drink it all and put all the dishes in the sink for later. I was already too late for work. I took my helmet, and put on my jacket, and pick up my leather backpack from the couch. I was out the door, five minutes later.

I'd think after ten years she'd know that once I made up my mind to do something, nothing short of being mowed over by a bus going eight-four miles per hour would stop me. An hour later, I sat with Jude in the center of his bed with forks in our hands. And together, Jude and I consumed an entire lemon pie in one sitting, while he thumbed through the books I'd picked out at The Blistered Pear. Lemon pie and old novels-with Jude. I studied his face with each bite he took, watched with undivided attention when he'd sing the lyrics to one of his favorite Beatles songs, and stared in awe as he skimmed the used novels. I couldn't remember the last time I'd seen him so content...nor when he started

In the middle was a table with two chairs, a container on top of it. We walked over towards the table and Xavier pulled out a chair for me. I blushed and sat down. Xavier sat in the other chair that was across from me and opened the container. Inside was two plates with some kind of chocolate on them. Xavier sat one in front of me and one in front of him. "This is Lesa's famous fudge. She only gave us two pieces though. Ever since she got pregnant she has eaten a bunch of chocolate. It's her weakness." I chuckled. I took a bite of the fudge and a slight moan bubbled in my throat.

23 *Buzzer* I sighed loudly and mumbled under my breath, “Done for the day,” Judy, that clingy girl was with me till our last class, guess my bad luck was teasing me today, I kept thinking it all-day “Are you free today?” she asked me with her big doe eyes hiding behind glasses, “Umm, no idea right now but I think I’ll be staying in for some N*****x and chill,” I indirectly rejected her for whatever she was planning with me. I don’t like clingy people much,

“I am not going waste my time practicing these kindergarten skills.” Judy said as she looked at her nails and crossed her arms. She then gave me a fake smile. Her tone doesn’t match her pretty face. Her hair is pulled into two long braids and her blonde hair looks almost golden in this light. Her features are soft, unlike Rebecca’s artificial beauty. “So how about we just stand here wait and chill, the professor won’t mind, I knew these skills even before I was born.”

My voice doesn’t sound too shaky, I think. Dad smiles. “You don’t have anything to worry about. We were just laying out the ground rules. What are you making?” He knows me so well. I return the smile. “Fudge brownies. I got a craving for some. They should be done in a few.” “Need help cleaning up?” Brady offers with a smile. There’s no fear or hesitation or nerves at all. Maybe they did have a good conversation. “Sure. If you could wipe down the counters, that would be a big help.” I smile, putting back the containers of flour and sugar.

Went away to the East Coast to visit colleges or whatever. Speaking of colleges, today Blondie and I were sitting at our usual spot at the diner, snacking on fries while we do our homework together. She was a few lines away to finishing her college essay, and I couldn't help but be a distraction. I’d steal glances and kick her feet playfully under the table every so often just to get her attention. I mean, the girl was too damn cute, what else was I supposed to do? "Stop it, Judah, I'm trying to focus," she hissed.

Most of the time, she didn’t mind seeing her students outside of school, but today, she wanted to remain anonymous. Ru found the area she was looking for. Ben and Jerry’s lined the shelves behind the glass doors. It seemed like there were even more choices than there had been the last time she’d allowed herself to consider such a treat, which had to have been months ago. Her mother always told her she was a little chubby, so Ru avoided sweets like the plague. It didn’t matter that no one else ever made any such remarks and that she easily fit into size four jeans. Liddy Brown’s words had imprinted on her mind.
