I said quietly.
"Bastard."
Kane moved around the office with casual ownership, pouring himself coffee from Adrian’s espresso machine, sitting in Adrian’s chair, using Adrian’s computer. Then, a flash of gold caught the light. I focused the binoculars on Kane’s wrist and my stomach dropped.
"Adrian, is your father’s watch gold? Vintage? With a black face?"
"Yes. Rolex Submariner. 1967. Why?"
"Kane is wearing it."
The silence stretched so long I thought we’d been disconnected. "Adrian?"
