I was in my private study.
It smelled of expensive vellum and printer ink. I had a spreadsheet to finish.
I was too focused to notice when the door was thrown back open, against the wall. Roman stood there.
His hair was damp from a morning run, his chest heaving. He looked like a god of the wilderness. Gosh, he looked so tempting.
‘Focus, Elara, focus,’ I reminded myself.
