As usual, he didn't turn to look at me as I walked in and quietly, I went to my bag to return my books. I opened the bag and was about putting the books in when I checked and discovered the cigarette pack was missing. What? I quickly turned to look at Ryan and lo and behold,it was there at the top of the keyboard. What the hell? How did he... I huffed and shook my head. This guy's something else. I returned the books and went to lie on the bed and as I did, the sound of the keys he was playing calmed me a lot. He was so good at it.

That old guy pointed at the bookshelf two rows farther. Ryan found a lot of books there, which caught his eyes. While checking out those, he chose a book “Eye of the evil” written by K. Miller. It was a story of a killer who had two different eye colors. His eyes full of rage, resent, one could see a burning hell in his eyes. How that killer killed all of his prey with his own designed equipment and the reasons behind murders, caught in Ryan’s attention. He bought this book.

Ryan asks quietly, though I doubt shouting would wake this dead-to-the-world puppy. I look up at him and smile. "Yes. It was a very good surprise. Thank you." Ryan looks away and a smile graces his lips. "I thought you didn't want a dog, though." He is quiet for a moment, looking at his hands. "I thought a dog might be good for you," he says finally. "Maybe for me too." Ryan reaches into the box and pulls out a book titled Your Samoyed and You. He opens the book and begins to read silently. My eyes widen at the picture of a large, fluffy white dog on the front.

It was only when I felt a hand on mine that I abruptly flinched back in startlement. "Sorry, I was calling you and you weren't responding," I soft voice said. It was Ryan again. He was probably ready to purchase his books. "Oh sorry about that, I just have a lot on my mind," I said and proceeded to scan his books. He had a total of four books all about the roman empire. He must really love learning about ancient things. He paid and I placed his books in a bag for him. He made a few steps towards the doors to leave but stopped and came back with a determined expression on his face.

She opened the first page. It was a simple equation, however, as soon as she saw it, she got bored and closed it. She huffed and laid on the bed with her back while her face faced the roof. Just like that, she slept off without warning. Meanwhile, Ryan busied himself with more books. Each time he felt different, he read to stable himself. Just as Ryan was reading, his phone rang which got his attention. Gently, he pulled his glasses and picked the call, it was a call from Jordan woods, his closest friend.

, causing Ryan to chuckle. "I guess so. Were you about to sleep?" The sound of Adrienne's laughter danced in his ears. "Nope. I am still wide awake, reading a book." "Really? Is the book as interesting as me?" Ryan couldn't resist a moment of banter. Adrienne scoffed playfully. "How can you compare yourself to a book? You are more fun and interesting." "You think so?" Ryan's voice softened with affection. "Uh huh," Adrienne affirmed. "So... do you mind if we..." Ryan began, interrupted by Adrienne's eager interruption.
