~~~
Amaya
His eyes no longer had those pretty green tint in them. They were now a bright glowing red colour. His teeth now contained a pair of sharp fangs ready to bite through your skin anytime. He wasn't just my kidnapper anymore. Nor my stalker.
He was now my vampire.
This realization hit me like a train. My feet were glued to one place not daring to move. My breathing had stopped a while ago. The beast in front of me must've caught on to my nervousness because a small pang of hurt shot across his face but quickly vanished.
I knew I should be terrified. I knew I should be running in the opposite direction. I knew I should be screaming for dear life.
So why couldn't I?
I couldn't bring myself to be scared of this creature. I might've been shocked but I'm not frightened for some reason. It was as if deep down, I already knew who he truly was.
"Listen, you might be scared shitless right now but I just need you to-"
"I'm not scared I'm just shocked." I tried to reassure him. He stared at me, studying me. Trying to see if there were any lies hanging in my words. He must've not expected this kind of reaction out of me.
"Come closer then," he suddenly asked.
"W-what? Why?"
"If you say that you're not scared you shouldn't have any trouble with approaching me." I looked at him suspiciously. Was this a trap? Would he completely devour me? I didn't have any problem with approaching him but I never know what kind of actions he might do.
"You're not gonna eat me alive aren't you?" He chuckled a little bit showing me that damn sexy smirk again.
"Come and find out." I took small skeptical steps towards him. When I found myself right in front of him, I took a long good look at his face. He was paler than normally to the point where his veins were visible through his skin. I slowly approached my hand to his cheek while he stood there silently watching me with his glowing red eyes.
While caressing his cheek, I again got the same sense of security and comfort that I felt at the hospital. Like he'd protect me no matter what the cost. Funny how he's the one who kidnapped me in the first place.
"You Amaya are a chosen one and I'm your protector."
Suddenly, the words he said that day seemed less hard to believe.
Was he actually telling the truth?
I raised my eyes to meet his while scrunching my brows.
"What you said when you kidnapped me, it wasn't a lie was it?" Every word I spoke seemed to amuse him because he would always show a smile right after. This time, however, his smile showed off his beautiful fangs making me stare at them with amazement.
"I didn't kidnap you." I look at him with an unimpressed expression.
"I'm pretty sure you taking me to your house without my permission while I was drunk could be classified as kidnapping." I deadpanned.
"Not when I was the one who saved your life."
"How did you-" The guy with the spear. It wasn't him?
"You thought I was the one who was going to stab you?" I didn't respond because I thought exactly that. He looked at me with disappointment.
"How many times would I have to tell you this Amaya, I would never in my life hurt you."
"How am I even supposed to stick with that when I don't even know your name?"
"Faire enough." He chuckled.
"My name is Damon." Damon, that's a nice name.
Wait a damn minute.
"Damon Salvatore?" I questioned. Even though they looked nothing alike, I couldn't help myself from asking. I mean what a coincidence this was. Meeting a vampire in real life whose name was Damon.
"Who?" He frowned.
"Vampire Diaries. Ring a bell?" He shook his head.
"Never mind then." I sighed.
"My name is Damon Cullen," he stated. I gave him a long look.
This was suspicious.
"Do you have someone named Edward Cullen in your family?" I questioned.
"No, and I don't know why you're stating all of these names. Besides, I don't have a family." I got disappointed at his answer since I was kinda wishing he would've said yes. His whole existence is just a huge coincidence.
"And to answer your question from before, yes what I said on that day was very much real," he told me. I looked at him contemplating what to say next because I guess there's no escaping it anymore.
The supernatural world exists and I'm somehow a part of it.
"So what's this chosen one thing?"
"You are a chosen one. You are destined to protect the sacred book from any harm until your time is finished."
"So where is this sacred book?"
"In your possession." In my possession? I don't remember having a sacred book with me.
Hold on.
Could it be the book that I thought belonged to my mom?
"It's the book you almost destroyed," he informed me.
Oh, maybe that's why he texted me to not tear it up. At that time I was so confused and thought he was a stalker. Little did I know he was actually a blood-sucking demon. Or was he?
"Since you're a vampire, do you drink blood?" I asked because from what I know, they're always thirsty for blood and he hasn't shown any sign of that.
"Normal vampires yes but not me." I frowned.
"Why not you?" He sighed.
"I know you may have a lot of questions at the moment but it's best for you to go back to sleep. It's one in the morning."
"You drag me all the way out here and show me that supernaturals exist just to tell me to go back to bed?"
"I dragged you here to finally make you believe me. The sooner you start your duties as a chosen one the better. You've already been attacked once by a shapeshifter. We are running out of time." Attacked? Shapeshifter? What is he talking about?
My confused look must've told him that I didn't know what the hell he was saying because he soon explained himself.
"That night when you were at your aunt's house. You went to the convenience store. You got attacked and then you lost memory of it when you hit your head apparently. You were attacked by a shapeshifter, not a human."
