He lunged.
Kael met him head-on, his sword clashing against the hunter's blade. They fought across the clearing, their weapons sparking in the darkness, their breaths coming in short, sharp gasps.
"You can't win," the hunter said.
"Maybe not. But I can make sure you don't either."
Kael drove his blade into the hunter's chest, and the creature collapsed, its eyes going dark.
