That if anything had gone wrong, the sorcerer would not leave to see another day. Before Lorin could react, Alden lunged at him, grabbing him by the throat. Since regaining his powers, he had become much more stronger and faster than he ever was. Lorin's attempt to free himself was futile, Alden's grip was like a vise. The sorcerer's desperate clawing was a stark contrast to his usual composure, a confirmation of Alden's worst fear. “Brother, stop!” Karken yelled, his voice filled with urgency. He rushed towards Alden, trying to pry his hands off Lorin's throat. But even Karken was no match for Alden's strength. No less when he was consumed by a primal fury.

Someone like a knight in shining armor. Bob and the others were shocked at the sudden turn of events. Yman was about to succeed but how come his resonance with his deity suddenly canceled?! No, that would be too fast, and too easy. “I-it’s true! He’s a monster!” He changed when he was still mid-air, landing in front of them. “I believe you have someone that belongs with me.” He buried his sword in one of them, the youngest one. “Stop!” The sorcerer threatened, bringing up a water prison to engulf the carriage “If you come one step closer, we will kill her.”

Together, they carved a path through the sorcerer's forces, their movements fluid and precise, their hearts beating as one. But the sorcerer merely raised a single, skeletal hand—and whispered something in a language colder than death. In a heartbeat, they all froze.

With each passing second, his frustration grew, his fury boiling beneath the surface. Driven by his determination to annihilate any threat, Alex ventured closer to the oak tree. His dark eyes searched the shadows, willing the enemy to reveal themselves. As he moved nearer, a sudden surge of power coursed through him, momentarily destabilizing the sorcerer's enchantment. I stood by the casket, my hands raised, weaving a shield of star-silver light around the caravan. The sorcerers ignored the soldiers; they headed straight for me. They wanted the collar. They wanted their master back. One of them, a figure in tattered white robes, lunged at me, his fingers elongated into talons of black smoke. I didn't reach for the star-silver this time. I reached for the void. I let the shadows around us wrap around my wrists, hardening into blades of absolute nothingness. "You want the Speaker?" I hissed, catching the sorcerer’s talons in my shadow-blades. "Take it!"

"What the- what is this?" Minos yelled. He looked over to Rei, whose hands were now holding on to the handle of the sword hanging on his belt. "Hold it." Cassana snapped. A faint yellow light now emanates from the gem. A floating luminous circle, humming and riddled with runes, was hovering above it. The same identical circle was also wrapped around Rei's right arm. As Cassana pulled the staff lower, the circle around Rei became tighter. "A sorcerer!" Minos, again stating the obvious.

I just hoped that she could do it after all this time. After seeing the others moving into position, I began to chant. “Earth, air, fire, water, earth, air, fire, water, earth, air, fire, water take our essence and fuel your daughter,” I glanced around as I chanted and saw the other three chanting too. I saw the sorcerer looking round. It had not escaped his attention that we were doing something, and he was beginning to look worried. He met my eyes, and I grinned and raised my eyebrows. His scowl was filled with hate as he was trapped. His own salvation had become his own prison.
