I folded my arms even tighter against the chill. “Which are?”

Tess nodded in absolute agreement from her station. “Two… Food,” she added.
“And three… People he genuinely cares about,” Knox finished quietly, his eyes holding mine.
The heavy words sent a sudden wave of heat straight beneath my skin, but before I formed a coherent response, a sudden movement near the main entrance pulled everyone's attention toward the front of the dark room.
