“You should be ready to order by now.” Knox leans back in his chair, smirking like he’s settling in for a game. “I could speed things up, but I need something in return.” Greg sighs, already tired of his bullshit. “And what’s that?” Knox points directly at me. “Her. I want her on break. She joins me for lunch, I’ll place an order and be out of your way when I’m done.” Greg’s eyes flick to me, narrowing slightly. “Do you know this man?”

Kole says. I blink. “Why?” “Knox said the first one felt too good, so he bought more.” I snort. “Too much damn money to waste.” Knox walks in holding baby London, passed out cold. “What y’all doing?” he asks. “Feeding the baby,” I say, blanket draped over me. He grins. “This one’s done.” He gently lays London down. “She heavy.” Kole stands. “Let me talk to you, bro.”

Mr Knox laughed at his own words. "Beautiful as ever, Melanie." Ridley took the woman's hand and lightly kissed the back of it, causing her rigid, pulled-up cheeks to blush lightly. If I were in any other set-up, I would have laughed at the ridiculousness of it. Ridley pulled me to his side. "This is Janelle, my date and one of the wonderful minds in my department." He introduced me with a charming smile. "Janelle, this is Mr William Knox and his lovely wife, Melanie. Mr Knox is one of the largest shareholders of Stetson Hotel and owns one of the most successful investment companies in the country."

Knox took the stage at twelve on the dot. He wore a charcoal suit that probably cost more than Sierra had earned in three years of servant wages, and he moved to the center platform with the unhurried confidence of a man who had never once entered a room without owning it. At forty-five, Knox Ashford was the kind of handsome person that aged like a weapon, sharper and more deliberate with every year. Silver hair, gold eyes, a jaw that could have been carved from the same concrete as the arena walls. The supernatural community knew him as a philanthropist. Everyone in this building knew what he actually was.

I only managed to nod and watch him walk towards the door where Devin stood with a grimace on his face. Oh no. Knox smirked at Devin mockingly. 'Just go,' I silently wished. They're like two beasts ready to bite each other's neck off if one makes a move. “Nice meeting you,” Knox offered his hand, “I'm Knox Collins.” “I don't care,” Devin growled. “Griff,” I whispered to my son who was looking up at the two huge figures in front of him. Knox chuckled, “I'll see you later, Sweetheart.” He called out to me before pulling open the door and disappearing as it closes.

Probably. A knock on my door made my pulse spike. “It’s me,” Knox’s voice called. “You ready?” I took a breath and opened the door. Knox stood there in his usual leather jacket and dark jeans. His eyes traveled over me slowly, lingering just a moment too long on my chest before meeting my gaze. “Hey,” I managed. “Hey.” His voice was rougher than usual. “You look good.” “Thank you”I smiled shyly. He cleared his throat. “We should go. Got somewhere I want to show you.”

Now it looked like his plans were gonna have to change. "Hey there." The sweaty overweight man came forward with his hand outstretched. "You must be Kyle; I'm Clarence Mayburn, pleasure. How you doing, Mr. Clancy? It's been a while. Sorry to hear about your wife." He shook the other man's hand and waited while he unlocked the gate in between his verbal back and forth with gramps. Kyle and gramps hopped back into the truck while Clarence pulled up the rear and followed them down the drive that had to be at least a thousand feet long. The place had a calming feel about it, like it was waiting to welcome him home. He couldn't wait to bring Kerry here.

Luna wanted to stop them from calling her Madame, but thinking that she has to get used to it, she just nodded at them and smiled a little. Phoenix Stokes is a man who works for Knoxx’s KnX modeling and photography business. He is the head photographer and a director of the company, he also works for the KnX Entertainment Company. He is a dark-skinned man who was 6 feet tall, he had sardonic brows and thin lips that could rival a woman’s. He looks good but only if you stare at him for a long time, and you will find him quite charming.

Knox grinned. “Hannah.” Nora said quietly as Knox sat down next to her. “Your medical person is on the way down there now.” Knox said, picking up a fork. “So explain to me this hunter wolf thing.” Knox said, picking up a green bean and placing it in his mouth. Nora looked down at her plate. It made her stomach growl. Green beans, mash potatoes, and steak. She looked hard at it. Knox reached over and stabbed a green bean with his fork off of Nora’s plate. He picked it up and stuck it in his mouth.
