Meredith wasn't sure if the Death Contract was enough to keep Brayden. What was she thinking? Keep Brayden? Meredith let out a breath she didn't know she was holding in. She needed this Death Contract for her family. But Brayden could leave her for Mizuki if he wanted to. Even though they both signed it to death do they part. Meredith wouldn't be able to fight Brayden in any kind of court for her life back. Even though Meredith couldn't understand why Brayden had chosen her over Mizuki she knew one thing. Mizuki had challenged her and she wasn't going to back down.
