"She isn't responding to any of the interrogation....I've try every possible way to make her talk, but she wouldn't budge."
I hear a voice say. But there is no response to that statement. No matter how much I listen. I use my enhance hearing, one of the perks of being a werewolf, but I still hear nothing! Just foot steps leading straight in the direction of my cell.
"Show me your eye", he orders.
I look away ashamed but not guilty, I was left with no choice than to do what I did.
"Show me your eyes!" he roars at me, commandingly.
Immediately, my eyes glows bright blue, in submission to the Alpha's roar, the power of an Alpha as the leader.
I see him look at me with those piercing and focused eyes, his brow farrowing together at me.
"I didn't say I am innocent!" I mutter. "I had no choice. They came after us, they killed my entire pack and I had to fight back to survive; my wolf instinct. And, it was also a night of the full moon," I defend myself.
"There are other ways to escape without hurting others. There are rules Omega, which you broke, making you not the victim!"
The way he said 'Omega', sounds to me to be so condescending and domineering.
"An arrogant Alpha!" I thought. I could almost roll my eyes.
To imagine I don't even feeling guilty. It is my first time hurting someone, but then it was also a night of the full moon, and I am still struggling to gain control.
My wolf growl softly at this man before me, famous Alpha of Greenwoods!
"Easy Kaya, Easy girl," I thought calming my wolf.
"I didn't kill her, my claws merely brushed her throat." I say.
"That brushing is now a threat to her life, if she turns due to your carelessness into something like us, she will be killed and avenged by her clan. So pray omega, to whatever gods you believe, that she lives, because that's when you do too!"
With that note of finality, he walks out of my cell, not waiting for my response. Not like I care, I could feel my wolf scoff. I feel tired and hungry and maybe a bit scared.
I've been running for my life all night and had collapse right at the border of the Greenwoods pack thirsty, there i was found by a man I suspect to be the Beta of the the pack and quite a few men, guarding the border.
My wolf went alert and defensive sensing their presence, I put up quite a fierce fight, I was drench in sweat and blood when they found me! I was easily outnumbered also, then arrest and taken to the cell to await their Alpha. And probably his judgement!
"Bad news travel fast, I guess."
Rumors has it that the Greenwoods Alpha is a notorious rake and monster, he rules with iron fist. He is feared by other packs Alphas, and thus maintaining the balance in the shape shifter's world.
He is also rumor to have a rigid sense of justice and is merciless in passing his judgement. And above all, he is described to be so Hot! I thought giggling, even though I couldn't see him clearly earlier in the very dim prison light.
Reproving myself aloud, I say. "You are at death door, Alessia, and all you can think of is that sultry Alpha's appearance!"
I sign.
No harm in sugar licking! I thought, shrugging.
The cells are very clean and tidy unlike other cells I've seen that looks like animal cages.
"Greenwoods did better in this," I thought, commending the thoughtfulness of the architect and the prison warder, and especially of the Alpha.
Moving to the right corner of the cell, I coil myself up to sleep. The floor is unusually warm on a very cold night, to which I feel gratefully for.
"Mother earth is on my side." I thought.
Closing my eyes, I fall into a deep slumber. I haven't have a good night sleep in days. Slowly, I drift into a world of fantasy where I am a powerful Luna of my own pack.
*************
"Rise and shine sleeping beauty!" a voice says, rather sharply.
The prison warder!
I jerk up forcefully from my sleep, trying to adapt to the bright sunlight that hit my eyes.
I stand up robbing my eyes, yawning and stretching, somehow I feel refresh.
"The Alpha want to see you!" a baritone voice says.
Looking in the direction of the voice, I see it was the man from last night. The one I thought to be the Beta.
He wears fitted jeans, slightly faded, a plain T-shirt, a leather jacket and rugged boots. He has this stoic look on him, but yet he looks handsome, with his short auburn color hair, styled rather neatly. He stands with his two hands holding each other behind him, a soldier stance. He also has a wide and very muscular upper body, a finely chiseled face, and his eyes is rather grey in color, his lips is small and pinkish. He looks very attractive.
"Please come with me, my lady," he repeats, bringing me back to reality.
I stand up, straightening out my shirt, which looks like shit now, and follow him down a corridor which burst out into a beautifully decorated pathway. Flowers opening their buds and shaking out the dews that had fallen on them. Huge towering pillars, that got wondering how the builder were able to make a pillars of that height.
A slivery white colored shepherd wolf waddle itself towards me, the rarest kind.
I shriek in excitement, running towards it, I kneel, rubbing the adorable creature on the head, cooing and bubbling over it, it tickles me on the neck with it's flurry fur and I laugh really hard. For a moment, I forgot all my troubles, it is like a world of fairytale.
"You frightened me, my lady," the Beta says, bending over me. Our eyes meet and for few seconds, lock.
"Do I have something on my face?" he asks me.
"Ohh....no, no,no...hmmm, I'm sorry I frightened you. I haven't seen a humm... shepherd wolf in years", I stutter pointing at the adorable animal, while trying to get on my feet.
I slip clumsily....
He grabs my hand to steady me. It feels awkward.
"Ohh...thank you". I say, tugging my hair, which I'm sure is so messy now, behind my ears.
"You're welcome," he answers curtly.
"You may need to freshen up again. I look a mess. And I just bumped into you...."
"No. It's totally fine. You don't look that bad..." he says, using his palms to demonstrate my entire appearance.
I smile at his thoughtfulness. "Okayii, thank you."
"She likes you. This is unusual. She usually behaves pricky to every other person except the Alpha and I," he says, rubbing the furry animal.
"What?" I ask, confused.
Nodding towards the she-wolf, he clarifies. "Her".
"Ohh, I guess I'm lucky then", I laugh softly.
"Please come with me my lady".
"Alessia", I offer.
"What?"
"My name is Alessia",
"Ohh....okay. This way please...." he says. I could swear, I see his cheeks glow.
He look quite uncomfortable, I'm sure he isn't use to dealing with women. He is so polite. And, maybe shy. I giggle quietly.
We enter a beautifully furnished room, fit for a princess. All the furnitures, glittering in gold.
Perhaps real ones.
"Are these real gold?" I ask curiously.
He smiles. "Greenwoods isn't a Kingdom of the Midas touch. If these, is all real gold, I'm afraid all other packs would war against us to loot all of this, don't you think?"
"True." I laugh again. Somehow he make me not feel stupid for asking.
"Good. I'll leave you now to dress up my lady, the attendants are already here."
On his queue, the att
endances swims in, bringing in trays of medicines and cosmetics and large bowl of water, folds of dresses and what not...
Derek’s POV: Two Moons LaterI sit in my office, eyes skimming over pack duties, barely focused. The weight of the past few weeks presses down like stone—battle councils, alliances, endless rebuilding.Just as I’m about to call it a night, the door bursts open.Darren barrels in, panting like he outran a storm.“What in the gods’ name are you breathlessly here for, Darren?” I groan. “If this is about another event, I swear I’m done attending anything for the rest of the month.”He cuts me off. “The Luna—”I blink. “What about Alessia? Is she throwing another—”“She’s in labor!” he blurts.I freeze. “What?”“The baby is coming, Derek!” he shouts.I
Third Person POV:Raven’s golden eyes blazes as she squared off with Ryel, lightning crackling faintly at her fingertips."Is this how you treat the one who raised you?" Ryel snarls."You killed her!" she screams. "You killed Olivia!"Ryel only laughs, dark and hollow. "No, Raven. I saved her. Her essence was a worthy sacrifice for this cause. She was chosen. History will remember her as part of a rebirth that transcends death."Raven’s face twists in fury. "You sick, delusional psychopath. I’m going to kill you."She lunges.Alessia moves to help, but Cyre grabs her arm. "No. This is her fight. We have to trust her. Meanwhile, the veil—" she points to the seething rift behind Ryel, light bleeding from it, pulling reality inward. "We need to close it. If it stays open much longer, it’ll consume the world."
Derek's POV:I walk ahead towards my office, my jaw taut, beneath my silence is fury. Alessia and Darren, just behind match my pace. We don't speak until we reach the office, and even then, it's the heavy this of the door closing that breaks the tension.Raven is already there. She stands near the window, arms crossed, hood down. Her fox ears twitches once in greeting, or warning - I can't tell. She turns slowly, and her eyes - still unnervingly gold - land on me first, then Alessia."You tortured her," she says flatly. No judgement. Just a fact laid bare."She warned it," I reply. "And she still didn't talk."Raven's gaze lingers on Alessia. "But you got close. She's shaken. That matters."I step forward. "Why are you here, Raven? You weren't supposed to leave your tent, the wings given to you for the duration of you
Alessia POV:The guards obey swiftly, dragging Mathilda forward. Her feet stumbles, but her head remains high - chin lifted, mouth tight line of disdain as they strap her arms and legs to the reinforced silver-inlaid chair.Mathilda's blind eyes - if they are truly blind - don't blink when the chains snap shut."I see you still enjoy your theatrics, Alpha," she says dryly, her voice cool and gravelly. "Or has fear made you a showman now?"Darren glances at Derek, waiting for a signal. He gives none.Instead, he steps forward until he's few inches away from her."Spare me the performance," he growls. "You've danced behind your veil long enough. We're done playing nice."Her lip twitches. "Ah, so we've moved to threats.""No. Truths." He nods towards the table behind Darren, where the tools lie neat
Raven's POV:Long after Cyre left. I sit with the book, fingers twitching at the edges of the pages trying hard to read it. But I can't. The text ripples in front of me any time I try to.I blink. Again.Nothing.I sigh. What the hell is wrong with me? I mutter, shutting the book with more force than necessary. The wind shifts. And then I smell it.That scent. Familiar - sharp like burned safe, laced with crushed petals. It's hers.Olivia.Along with it, there's a scent that doesn't belong.I rise slowly, scanning the treeline from the edge of the den's eastern garden. The moon casts pale shards through the forest canopy - and then I see it.A cloaked figure. Moving swiftly among the trees."What the hell - ?"
Olivia's POV:I shouldn't be here. The corridor is dim, tucked just behind one of the carved alcoves in the East Wing. I come looking for the young man I'd a one night stand with. I'm in heat and could do with a nice, steamy, hot sex to cool off my nerves. But I can't move. Not after what I'm seeing. Two guards. One frail looking woman between them. They're dragging her - no, not roughly, but not gently either - they reek of secrecy. And that moment, as the light hits her face just right, I see her. She's not just some prisoner. She's the blind old seer. The one who foresaw Ryel as the Lycan and ultimate ruler of the world. The one who whispered. "Greenwoods must fall for you to rise to the position of Lycan."I freeze, pressing my back against the wall so hard it hurts.
