I smash the face of a Redmaw warrior with my sword pommel. The battle is no longer nearly won. It’s barely started. The courtyard is slick with blood, the air is thick with the screams of the dying, and a third of our army has turned against us. But Kieran is alive. And as long as he keeps breathing, I’ll kill every single thing that tries to stop me from getting to his side.

I yelled when the pavement trembled boisterously that the rough and wild noise of the upcoming danger was deafening. "Xiomara, it's one of the Eleanor!" Cerulean shouted before dragging Belle and Herofus with him to hide. Damn. Now I'm starting to despise my own blood. "Fuck! What kind of beast is this?!" Lieutenant William cursed and began to shoot furiously. "Run! Run faster!" Lieutenant William was in my side while Grande was constantly firing from behind. Her men were defending their troops and the other volunteers who were with us. "Xiomara! The bullets couldn't penetrate their skin!"

Hunter’s eyes shifted from the gun to Guiller, his fists clenching at his sides. "I don’t have time to kill you right now—I’ve got bigger things to deal with. But if you still want to end it all, go ahead," Guiller said before turning and walking out with Antonio’s men. Hunter stood there, frozen, watching Guiller’s back as he disappeared through the door. “How’d it go?” Don Antonio asked when Guiller got into the car where the elder was waiting. “He’ll come around," Guiller said confidently. “Any updates on Lady Aleah?” he asked, shifting the conversation.

Suddenly, Roberto called out from the darkness. "Captain Terry!" His voice was sharp, cutting through the stillness of the night as figures began to emerge from the surrounding trees. Captain Terry, a hardened guerrilla leader known for his ruthlessness, stepped forward, flanked by his men. They had come running at the sound of the explosions, ready to assist. Terry’s sharp eyes immediately took in the situation—the defeated Japanese soldiers, the bodies strewn about, and the few captives still alive. His jaw clenched with grim satisfaction.

Guerra smirked, looking directly into Jun's raised up face. Jun suddenly growled, throwing away two of Guerra's friends that were holding her side by side, "Now, I am standing up for myself and you can't bully me anymore!" Guerrero takes out his gun and shoots the man, square in his chest without flinching a muscle then he strides towards Jeremy. “What is this hostile reception I'm getting, Kid?” “There was a… situation.” “I can see that, even the slick and cunning Maxim couldn't slip through this one,” Guerrero mocked. Maxim moaned at his son’s betrayal, “You bastard.” He gurgled, struggling as blood bubbled in his throat. “Take him to the car,” Guerrero snapped at two of his men. “Our bargain is complete Kila Vongov, pleasure doing business with you.” Guerrero turns his back to leave but halts at the sound of two safety levers being flicked off.
