I really don't know what's funny. Jade's shorter than me. Latin American, olive skin, big green eyes and she's kinda pretty. She dresses in tight clothing sometimes and I'm always tempted to take her to a corner and tell her her choice of clothing is too tight. I don't know why she dresses like that though, it's like she has this massive crush on Leo with the way she throws her arms around him when they stop to talk. And she always giggles a lot.

A band was going to play later. Lyle was excited about catching candy–it wasn’t something he ever did before. We made our way up the main street through the crowd. It was only seventy degrees today, not too hot but not chilly either. I had bought Lyle an outfit for the fourth of July. I wasn’t wearing red, white, and blue–just a white sleeveless dress that came up mid-thigh, with four-inch heels, brown leather cowgirl boots. I had gone rummaging through my closet and found three pairs of boots that I had forgotten that I left behind and a few dresses too.

"Thank you, sweetheart," I said, crouching to his level and giving his cheek an affectionate pinch. He giggled. Looking closer, I realised we were all coordinated in soft pink accents. Leo wore a crisp black suit with a soft pink bow tie, while Damien's sleek, dark suit was paired with a pink necktie of a similar shade.
