Let Her Speak Novels & Stories

“Ms. Voss, they’re ready for your speech.” She took the stage to a wave of respectful applause. The spotlight found her, making the silver of her dress gleam. She spoke of hope, of resilience, of the future. Her voice was clear and strong, each word weaving a tapestry of corporate responsibility and human compassion. She was magnificent.

But she didn’t react. Didn’t shift. Didn’t blink. And I realized then— She wasn’t seeing the grave. Not really. She was somewhere else. Somewhere unreachable. Her lips parted slightly. Not enough for sound. Just… movement. I watched carefully. Waiting. And then— So faint I almost missed it— She spoke. Not to anyone. Not to the crowd. Not even to him. Just… into the space in front of her. “…okay.” The word was quiet. Empty.

“I’ve been asking him for money for weeks to take care of myself. He refuses.” I looked at her. Then at George. Then back at her. And I laughed. It wasn’t a polite chuckle. No—it was the kind of laugh that made people shift uncomfortably because they couldn’t tell if you were joking or about to set something on fire. “So let me get this straight,” I said, taking a step closer. “You walk into my office, sit in my chair, and your opening statement is that George won’t send you cash?” “Yes.” She tossed her hair like that explained everything.

He was saying but she held up the file for him. "Please take it, I want to leave now! It's suffocating here." She confessed shakily "I feel suffocated. I don't know what's happening to me but I want to go home now." Her voice cracked and was a lot calmer than what he had envisioned. She wasn't shouting or yelling at him. She was hurt but she still talked to him like she was having a normal conversation. That's Hera, she never raises her voice at anyone.

"Lecturers are actually not normal." "And that microphone," I said, shaking my head, "don't even start." She leaned forward. "That thing is useless honestly." We both laughed. But then I noticed it again. That pause. That small delay before she answered. Like she was somewhere else and just coming back. I slowed down a bit. "…Ella," I said. "Yeah?" "You're not really here." She looked at me immediately. "I am." But I could see it wasn't true.

As the months turned into a year, the "Blackwood-Vance" name became synonymous with a global shift in power. Sarah had moved from the shadows of hacking into the spotlight of international policy. She was currently in Geneva, testifying before the United Nations about the "Loom" and the dangers of unregulated shadow banking. I watched her on the news, a proud smile on my face. She looked magnificent—a woman who had reclaimed her voice and was using it to shake the world.

But the tears came anyway. A soft whisper escaped her lips— “Ha-kun…” She hadn’t even realized it before. It was the first time she called him that. “Kun.” So gentle. So personal. So close. She wanted to call him. To talk. To hear his voice… even just for a moment. So the heaviness could melt away. But Heri is flying—somewhere over Europe. Far away, in the sky. “God… I just want to hear him. Just for a while. Ha-kun…”

she spoke again. Her voice had changed, just like the last time she visited. It was as though she had connected to the source of where her powers came from. It was bold, firm, a bit more confident. "What is it?" Oscar asked. His eyes gleamed with curiosity. He was ready to do anything just from the sound of his voice. "She needs her mate now. He's the only one who can save her..." "No!" I cut in sharply, letting out a deep groan as I tried to push myself up the bed.
