My thumb hovered over her contact, itching to call her, to demand an explanation.
But I couldn’t. Not after what I’d heard. Not after realizing she was happy... without me.
I stared at the broken glass, the crack spreading slowly, just like the ache in my chest. “I don’t know how to let go,” I admitted, my voice barely above a whisper.
“That’s because you don’t want to,” Gavin said, his voice softening. “But you’ll have to. For her sake.”
A quiet sigh broke the tension, and I looked up to see Isaac leaning against the window, his arms crossed, his face thoughtful. I’d almost forgotten he was there, quietly observing, listening to everything.
