I seethed, my voice barely above a whisper.
He threw his head back and laughed. "Make me pay? Oh, that’s interesting. But instead of wasting your energy on me, why not channel it into something more important, like finding your son and your dear Little friend?"
My breath caught in my throat. My heart pounded so hard I thought it might explode.
"Looks like your little friend might be in bad shape," he added, his lips twitching like he was trying to hold back his laughter.
