Mated by fate
I peer at it, hoping that I will be able to make sense of what is written.
Rather, the writings get blurry the closer I get and my head begins to feel heavy. I slam the book shut and leave it beside me, giving up on my attempt.
I take my plate and the book, drop off the untouched pie in the fridge, and go back to my room.
As I lay in bed, sleep eludes me, my mind being troubled by the thoughts of having to make a decision; whether to go back to Adam's so I can uncover the connection of this book to Adam's family, or stay here and continuing with my life, as before - even though some things have changed.
