If only I had known that Jane would come to him, I should have come to him first, for I have first known him, he belonged to me. ‘Believe, the simple little things of today might be the bigger things tomorrow. ’ she said and pulled a book from the bookshelf; Ikigai - The Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life, and handed the book to me. ‘Open it to whatever page,’ I then opened the book, page 66, the first thing I read was, Live an Unhurried Life. ‘What do you see?’ she asked. ‘It says, Live an Unhurried Life.’

I would live the rest of my life well—free, unrestrained, and entirely my own. The End

“I–” “Oh, or am I even qualified to talk about forgiveness?” I cut in. “After you came back from studying abroad, you were never short on women. Compared to them, an ex like me isn’t worth mentioning. In your eyes, I probably don’t even count as a person; I’m just a backup you can keep around for life.” Finn denied it over and over again. “No. That’s not what I think. I just didn’t realize… that I still love you.”

There's no way I can tell her or anyone what I have planned and why. Before her, there was no question as to where my life was headed. Nothing stood in the way of what I had to do; I've always known what that was and never regretted or resented my life. I saw each day as a blessing, every good thing was something the bastard seed of a monster should be grateful for, and I never asked for nor looked for more. But she makes me want more.

And I wish I can do something to make their lives better. There is absolutely nothing interesting in my life as of the moment. Seriously, I am not pathetic to go after Samuel. I don't think that I need a fucking love life. My life has been great without him. I just have to focus my energy in something more productive with my life. I decided to work on a new book and I think it's going to be great. And I think I am out for fucking blood. I want to write a story about a stalker who kills people he thinks is going to ruin his perfect love story. This would book will not be a walk in the park so I need help from my editor.

"Though as entertaining this is, the affairs of the still living are none of my concern. You'll have to speak to my opposite; Life." "So how do I find Life?" I asked, and Death shrugged, twirling his scythe as if it were a baton. "No clue. I deal with matters of death." "...you're of no help, you know that?" "I've upheld my deal, so I think I've helped way more than necessary. I'm just glad I didn't go fishing for your soul. Otherwise, I would've declined." My jaw drops at his comment, and he shrugs, fading away.
