*Ellas POV cont.* “My name is Claire, the former Luna. You are in The SilverLake Pack. Your friends Ashley and Austin are here as well. They have been worried about you. You have been in a coma for 2 weeks. I let the doctor know you are awake. You are safe Ella. I hope you can make our pack your home.” Claire said almost pleading.

Laura grinned, "You bonded with Safe Haven way before you knew how to speak." "Larry's from here?" Andrew asked. "Nope, your bond with him is on another level." When they arrived at the witch's home, Andrew found himself unable to enter because the hallway and her reading room were cluttered with mirrors. The witch had to come out to meet them. Andrew jumped back, she was the splitting replica of the moon goddess's apparition to him. To make matters worse her name was Serena. When he'd explained his shock to them she produced a locket of a woman who also looked a lot like her.

Experimenting, she looked back and met each of their eyes, catching them in the staring act yet again. "This is ridiculous." Linda stood, dusting the sand off of her legs, and marched over toward the misfits before her friends even had time to realize she’d left. Four eyes watched her carefully as she swiftly dodged people and came to a stop at the edge of the bright blue towel Evans lounged on. "Okay, what is your problem with me?" She flung her arms wide, searching for some answer that made sense. "You exist," Diana spoke coldly. Linda was shocked and she flinched. It wasn’t the response she had expected. "And what about my existence is so terrible that I can’t turn around without you guys

You can save us again now.” Her eyes were wide and intimidated, but she nodded. “What can I do?” I asked Loretta to bring her box of knives, and all the bottles of bloodwine that she had. After she had done so, I explained what I had in mind. Loretta stared uncertainly at the tools with which she’d harmed herself on stage. That had been no problem for her, but using them in a ritual was another matter entirely. Mr. Pervis winced. “I . . . suppose that could work,” he muttered. “But it sounds so unholy.”

"I will grab you some food and drink." Telraamon kissed her cheek as he moved to get the items. "I don't think I want to," Lucian told her, but he moved over to her chair. "The goddess is worried about you. You did nothing wrong when Xylia was taken. That spell broke you in ways that we didn't know. Take my hand." Lindaat held her hand out to him.

The bond flickered. Not prophecy. Lineage. “That’s impossible,” Kael said quietly. “All line-born nodes were burned out when.” “When the future stopped being prewritten?” Linda finished. She looked at me again, and something in her eyes deepened. “Not all of them.” My skin prickled. “Explain,” I said. Linda adjusted the strap of her satchel. “I wasn’t born with sight. Or power. Or anything destined. I was just… a girl in a river town two valleys south of here.”
