“Thank you so much, Diana. I really appreciate you believing in me.”
“You’re most welcome, Lisa,” Diana said warmly, before turning to leave the room.
As the door clicked shut behind Diana, Lisa exhaled slowly, she rose from the bed.
“There’s one last thing I need to do,” she whispered to herself, a cold resolve settling over her as she stepped out of the room.
Lisa went to the living room to check if Diana had truly left.
She locked the door behind her, then grabbed a shovel and made her way to the backyard.
She knelt at Clara’s grave, her hands steady as she began to dig. The earth was soft, but the task felt heavier with each shovelful removed. Finally, she unearthed Clara’s body.
