THE WRONG BROTHER
Larry is who she trusts right now, while I'm still earning my way back.
We sit at the kitchen table, an awkward triangle. Charlotte tries to keep conversation flowing, asking Larry about his apartment search, his dating life, his adjustment to New York.
He answers easily, charmingly, occasionally glancing at me like he's waiting for me to leave.
"So," Larry says after a while, addressing Charlotte but clearly aware I'm listening. "How are you doing? Really doing?"
Charlotte glances at me, then back at Larry. "I'm... getting there. It's been a hard couple of weeks."
